He’s one cool Dude in his own warm say, and the only thing more pleasing than his ultra- reliable housetraining is his sunny, supportive 24/7 smile. His owner had to move and regretfully gave us his beautifully schooled prize; The Dude’s an intelligent 3-year-young Red Heeler/American Staffordshire mix gentleman whose manners are immaculate; he’s a shelter office dog for now and a more civilized housemate you won’t find. The Dude’s as refined as you can be and still have fun — he doesn’t chew, won’t jump on you, and the only thing he’ll knock over is your heart; he’s patient with cats, great with kids, and he never meets a stranger; please test him with your current dog. The Dude’s highly food motivated, cooperative and responsive, teaching him new tricks would be fun; or just let him show your family how a courtly inside/outside guy behaves. If you’re ready to give your heart away to a handsome young sidekick who’ll shadow you happily, or simply need a friendly etiquette lesson, come and see The Dude.

Her owner moved and left her with us, but our gracious, affection-filled Little Debbie doesn’t belong here any more than a man in the moon — a full moon that is. At 8 years and 19 mostly soft-gray lbs., she’s just as large and lovely, and she’s replete with luminous personhood, too. Hold her and you’ll know you’re with a solid friend, the soft-voiced but chatty kind, who purrs a deep throaty purr, kneads your knees while she listens to your triumphs and tragedies, and eclipses the problems of the day with her very presence. Little Debbie’s an appreciative girl too — she gets along fine with other cats, keeps her white paws fastidiously clean, and would make a wise and gentle inside/outside pet for children. Her health is splendid and she’s already spayed; Little Debbie’s all set to light up your days, and your nights too, with her ample, love-beaming ways. Come see how much fun it is to be moonstruck, and how much more there is to love with our ever-so-deserving Little Debbie.

There’s no official breed listing of a Labra-Basset, but our charming Betty Boop’s here to challenge that — hers is indeed a rare breed of appeal, and of her many assets nothing shines brighter than her amiable, outgoing ways, not even the sheen on her beautiful black coat. One-year-old Betty Boop was returned to us because she grew too big, now she’s dazzling one and all with her fun, adoring, ever-so-social spirit; she’ll follow you anywhere with a smile, an instant friend-maker, patient and gentle, quick to roll on her back for a fine tummy rub, and beamingly happy to lie at your feet. Betty Boop shows infinite patience in our busy office, even cats who don’t like her can’t turn off her friendly, accepting approach, and she’s fine with other dogs too, even those not as beautiful as her intriguingly well-made self. Betty Boop’s destined to be a selfless, loyal and trustworthy companion for kids and a prized family member; she’s great on a leash and is waiting to walk with you into a future as happy as her ever-cheerful heart. Come meet a new form of love, the kind that’s pure Betty Boop, and see just how special her gleaming friendship can be.

Take her down from her window seat and she’ll reward you with a wealth of affection, but Molly’s a Tortoise-Shell cat after all, said to bring good luck and even some financial good fortune — look into her gorgeous tri-color face and you’ll see she’s a bonus calico, too, long-haired and stunning. At 4 years old Molly’s just a little slip of a thing underneath her opulent orange and black coat; she was turned in because of pet allergies, and now she’s determined to enrich her new family’s lives with her soft voice, tender head butts and fervent ankle rubs, all wrapped in a profusion of purrs. Molly’s gentle, social and attentive, and would make a wonderful companion for your young ones; she gets along fine with other cats and she’s a tidy little girl; her box is neat and her alabaster bib and paws are clean, feminine and carefully groomed. She’s been declawed and so must stay indoors. If you’re ready to treasure Molly as dearly as she’ll treasure you, come hold her and feel the sweet prosperity she’ll pour right into your heart.

She’s so exquisitely housetrained the word “accident” isn’t in her vocabulary — but she demonstrates the true meaning of “genteel” with ease. Our smiling, social Chelsey’s an American Bulldog mix at 6 years old she’s a walking etiquette lesson, and she’ll teach you how sweetly genuine warmth and refined manners go together hand-in-paw. Chelsey was found stray in Bradley; whatever her early training she’s been socialized beautifully, and she celebrates the American Bulldog character in signature Chelsey style: she’s by-your-side social, confident and obedient, as clean and trustworthy at home as you are, a loving companion for your kids and a lovely playmate for other dogs, she’s fine with cats too, and oh yes, she adores leash-walking. Come meet the friendship delight of your life; her ladylike ways may remind you of Audrey Hepburn, but she doesn’t need breakfast at Tiffany’s at all; Chelsey only wants to be with you.

How he came to be named “Scatter” is as mysterious as his Egyptian Abyssinian heritage — he’s certainly not scatter brained or sloppy either. In fact his trademark Abyssinian/mix intelligence is so pronounced he’s beyond box-trained; he always waits patiently til dark to use his litter box — hey, who says a handsome 2-year-old guy in his prime can’t be modest? You’ll see that he wears the distinctive brown ticked Abyssinian coat too, dense, silky, and more spotted than striped — and his big, gloriously green eyes are another breed trait. But more important than his coloring is that his purr-trigger lies just fingertip deep in his warm ticked fur; Scatter was turned in because his owner had personal problems, but his ability to love is still as quietly constant as the rest of him. He’s abundantly affectionate in his own easy-going way and a friend to all who meet him — he’s used to living with other cats, is accepting of dogs and has just the serene temperament to make him a wonderful first pet for your little ones. Scatter’s already neutered and can go home with you today, where he’ll balance his exotic ancestry with plain down home good manners; and if your litter box is in a private place he may even use it before nightfall, but he’s sure to spend the days loving you. Scatter’s ever-pleasing sense and sensibilities are waiting, come see him today.

He’s a pure Chocolate Lab mix who loves water right down to his webbed feet — so much so that he sang when we turned on the hose, and earned his name “Radio.” But that’s just the first of this strikingly handsome 2-year-old’s bountiful assets; Radio loves to sit, shake and fetch on command, yes he’s already housetrained, and you and your kids will laugh with delight when he deftly catches a tennis ball in mid-air, as many times as you want to throw it. Radio jumped the fence at his previous home and now he’s here, the most popular, trainable and cooperative boy on the block; he gets along fine with other dogs, thinks walking on a leash is a blast, and is ready to roll his resplendent retriever heritage right into your home, where he’ll shower you with playful affection and lavishly innocent friendship. Come see what a chocolate Prince looks like, and let your heart listen to Radio’s joyous forever-song.

The Maine Coon is the second most popular cat breed in the US, and when you meet our magnificent Higgins and you’ll know the reasons why. He lives in a cloud of airy fur, but his intent is crystal clear — to intrigue you with every breed characteristic at his command, then help you revel in the pleasure of your friendship. Two year old Higgins was turned in by his owner with several other cats, and he displays his Maine Coon ways with panache — he’s outgoing, attentive and talkative, with a decidedly gentle disposition, keen intelligence you can see in his sensitive face, and the stately, flowing coat his ancestors have made famous. True to his heritage, he’s relaxed with other pets, full of affection for you and is destined to make a loyal, playful companion for your kids. But for all his exemplary traits, Higgins’ exquisite heart is his very own to give; and if you’re ready to return his passionately civilized kind of love, he’d like to become your Maine man. Come see.
He’ll fetch your heart as gracefully as he races for a ball, and retrieve your dreams with a two-year-old’s tenderness, too! Scooby’s a gallantly wholesome mystery dog — a handsome Lab/Hound mix found stray, and the poor soul who lost him will miss him every day of forever. He’s the quintessential companion for you and your kids — athletic, love-driven and brimming with fun-loving vitality; he adores play and other dog playmates, and will make the perfect outside dog for the family who’ll return his eternal rush of affection and his big sweet kisses. Scooby’s ready to romp right into your life, and show you what loyalty means; come meet our black and white wonder boy and feel the first sweetness of a new lifelong-strong friendship.

His name’s Spanky, maybe in honor of his spankin’ clean white paws — but then his pure white bib and mouth are equally immaculate, so who knows. He’s in his prime, we figure he was 7 on his last birthday; he’s already neutered, healthy and well cared for, imminently social and quick to come when you call him. Spanky’s clearly someone’s dear lost pet, and he’s the perfect candidate for “All-Time Best Outdoor Cat.” He loves to be outside, happily guarding your doorstep and soaking up the rays, comforting and comfortable, just close enough to rub his kind affection on you at every opportunity. Spanky’s fine with other cats and dogs, and would be a fun, steadfast friend for your kids — and you too, of course, and probably and your neighbors. Take him home and let him work his quiet love magic on you and yours.

Watch her run with the big dogs and you’ll see there’s nothing “small” about her — the word’s no measure for her pretty smile, her exuberant wag, her passionate kisses, her impressive people skills, or her massively affectionate, energetic heart. You see 2-year-old Amber’s a Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, and she displays the extreme intelligence, fearlessness, athleticism, and the coloring the latter breed is known for — in full, fun loving dimension. Amber was turned in by her owner because she outwitted the backyard fence — she probably went looking for attention. (Hey, we told you she was smart and loving.) She’s almost housetrained, adores other dogs, is fine with cats, and would make an ideal, trustworthy companion for your kids; her capacity for play is as endless as her fascination with tennis balls, squeaky toys, and above all — you. Her short coat makes her as low maintenance as you’ll find, but your highest expectations are easily in her reach. Bring your heart to see Amber today, and together they’ll jump for joy.

His name’s Checkers and he plays for keeps; for if you can resist his game board mustache and his deep emerald eyes, you’re sure to fall for his warm, effusive head butts and his wondrous cat-commentary. But then losing yourself in the expansive charms of this supremely amusing 2-year-old is a win-win anyway. Checkers was given up, regretfully, by a lady with crippling arthritis — now he’s ready to devote his socially-adept young self to you and yours. Checkers is popular with everybody — cats, dogs, and kids alike; his manners are as resplendent as the rest of him, he’s gentle, tidy, polite, funny and endlessly affectionate. If you’re looking for a captivating friend who’ll king you in a minute, the next move is yours. Come take Checkers home today, and begin the love-match of a lifetime.

Sure he’s housetrained — he’s a gentleman after all — obedient and ultra-responsive, a trainer’s dream and a family’s lifelong treasure; the only thing wild about him is his popularity with kids and dogs, large and small. Memphis is a modestly-sized, glossy brown terrier/mix whiz-pet whose previous owner couldn’t give him the time he deserved; an instant friend-maker with who comes immediately when you call him, eager to kiss you and get a hug in return — he adores treats too. Memphis can already “sit,” but he yearns to learn more, his potential’s as unlimited as his love and acceptance of others, cats included. Low-maintenance Memphis gives eons more than he demands, and would gladly be your inside/outside dog. Come touch his silky ears and see how easily Memphis will grace your life; he’s this century’s bargain of the heart, and more.

The Maine Coon cat is the second most popular breed in the U.S. — the legendary descendent of an English Seafarer’s felines; how this magnificent young dream boat of a Maine Coon mix came to land stray in Ninety Six is a mystery, but Simba exemplifies the appeal of his breed in every aspect. At almost a year old he’s as soft as sea foam, two handfuls of long, frothy fur — with a talking voice and purr as silky as the rest of him, and the gentle, affectionate intelligence that makes the Maine Coon famous. He’s destined to be a playful, attentive companion throughout his life — another Maine coon trait — and is the consummate choice for a child’s cat, or anyone who appreciates a love as constant and tender as the stars. Civilized Simba gets along amiably with other cats and dogs, and keeps his box ship-shape, of course. If you’ve been searching for the perfect port in every storm, there’s no finer transport to happiness than Simba. Come see.

She rolls on her back submissively and smiles her heavenly smile when you rub her chest, showing you the flip side of her American Staffordshire image — tender, vulnerable, and as love-seeking as a young child. But then Rosary is indeed just a 2-year-old herself; a beautiful, healthy brindle and white young girl found stray, and a perfect candidate for adoption as a gentle, wholesome family dog. Rosary’s dream of paradise includes kids to play with and parents to bond with, she’ll stay by your side forever and a day, a divine companion with an eternal tail wag. She’s semi-housetrained already and good on a leash, her eagerness to please makes her a pleasure to train. Cats are fine with Rosary; please test her with your dog — wanting all your attention is her only flaw. If you value everlasting loyalty and infinite friendship, Rosary will give you her heart and soul — and all her smiling happiness, too.

“Buff” describes her delightfully soft orange color — but also the way she rubs her tiny cheek against yours to polish your cares away. Six-month-old Nym is smart, petite, playful and attentive, a charming stray from Ninety-Six, complete with her own white eyeliner, who likes other cats and thinks humans are fun and fascinating. Come see how special you feel when pretty Nym takes her very own shine to you.

He’s graceful, athletic, affectionate and intelligent — and he’s keen on bird-watching, too — but when you’re an elegant young Pointer mix like Toby, all that’s in your blood. Handsome 2 ½ year old Toby was found wandering with his sister, whose Pointer look’s just as picture-perfect as his, and he has manners to match his fine heritage. He loves a rollicking play session but he’s too polite to jump on you or your kids, and his congenial personality beams just as warmly from his blue eye as his brown. Toby’s housetraining’s in progress, he gets along fine with other dogs, and his ultra-short tan and white coat’s as easy-care as it comes. Come let Toby show you what good breeding’s all about —he’ll hunt down your heart with his smile and become your family’s forever-loyal champion.

Splish-splash — is he taking a bath? — or is our beautiful young fur-cloud Grady playing in his water again? Either way, when he turns his head upside down and gives your hand a fervent rub, this one-year-old’s the most flirtatious cat you’ll meet, and except for the soft gray cap on his head, the whitest and fluffiest too. Grady was turned in by his owner; now he’s ready to make up for lost time by wrapping you in his luscious purr and showing you how delightfully affectionate a ravishing cat-boy can be. Grady’s manners are as appealing as the rest of him — he gets along fine with dogs and other cats, and would make a gentle, relaxed companion for your kids. He may dabble in his water, but he respects your heart and all it holds. Come drink in his attention, check out his freshly-washed paws, and feel just how much love charming Grady has to give.

He’s a small Terrier mix who lives big, as well-formed from head to toe as a bantam weight wrestler, and if you dare underestimate his 11.4 lbs. he’ll put a hold on your heart before you know it. Three-year-old Bing is a stray with every social skill —he’s polite, outgoing and interested, great with kids and cats, and downright adoring of other dogs; he loves to walk on a leash and is making good progress on his house-training. (Don’t bother to stop his tail from wagging, it’s impossible.) Bing’s handsome brown and white coat is a snap to care for, and if you look deep into his eyes you’re sure to see true-blue. Come see a takedown in the making — smiling Bing will pin you for the forever friend you are, and show you exactly how fun a 182-ounce sidekick can be.

She’s every bit as fiery as her name — and just as impossible to ignore — but our Wasabi’s so full of savory fun you’ll never get enough of her. “Playtime” is all the time in Wasabi’s book, with a little left over for snuggling and talking. At 4 months old she’s the cutest Spice Girl you’ll ever meet, an affectionate fluff-ball of long black hair, with an innocent face that belies her sweet mischief-making, and an excited purr that rocks her little body.
