  • Spybot Search & Destroy - free removal tool
  • Ad-Aware - a Free Removal tool and commercial prevention tool
  • CWShredder - Removes Cool Web Search junk.
    Used to be from Merijn.org, now from Intermute (they make commercial spyware removals,
    but I have not tested them yet)

  • HiJackThis from Merijn.org
  • Firefox - Great Browser without all the security holes of Internet
    Explorer.

  • PCHell.com - Great Info on Removing common virus/spyware issues
  • CastleCops - formerly ComputerCops. Good forum and reviews of commercial spyware
    removal tools.
