Remington
With his owner in the military and transferred away, Remington found himself homeless. But this three-year-old, bright and loving Lab and Pit Bull blend isn’t worried one bit. And that’s because he knows he’s got personality-plus and offers more fun than someone could expect. At three-years-old, Remington has everything a dog lover could want: he’s potty-trained, loves other dogs and children, and is essentially turn-key for any household. He was trained by his former owner and knows to listen — just what you’d expect from the “son” of a military man. You want to lounge? Remington says “Sure!” You want to play? Remington says, “Let’s do it!” You want to enjoy unconditional love? Remington says, “Always.”

OMalleyB
O’Malley! An apple-headed, male yellow Tabby named O’Malley, what a cat is he. He was clearly someone’s cat at one time, but probably was left to fend for himself. He arrived at the shelter with some scrapes and scratches, which have healed and he’s now more handsome than ever. It seems that he prefers the indoor life enjoying daily meals, or kitty room service and his cushy bed. O’Malley’s a big fella and it’s best you keep your sure footing around him because his leg rubs are full of powerful love. He’s all muscle and big heart, the kind of cat that makes girls swoon and men want to take to a tractor pull.

Pets of the Week April 18, 2016

Brewster
With energy to spare, one-year-old Brewster is all about fun, fun, fun, and not particularly well-suited for a couch potato lifestyle. This Chocolate Lab blend is loyal, loveable, happy and friendly to all he meets, including other friendly pooches. Brewster if full of energy and will run to the door to greet you (or anyone, for that matter) as if you’d just returned from a year-long trip. He is truly “man’s best friend,” and is at his happiest when engaged in family activities. He would enjoy running, hiking, swimming and playing fetch for hours on end. He is a breeze to train, and as long as you are prepared to live with puppy-like behavior for a while, he will bring absolute joy and adventure to your life.

Ollie
What’s “old” for a cat? 10 year old, long-haired, tuxedo kitty, Ollie, doesn’t think it matters. Framed by his friends for a crime he did not commit, Ollie was brought to the shelter without a fair trial. Being one who turns life’s lemons into lemonade, he is just peachy about going to a new home and enjoying a new family. Ollie lived outside most of his life, but now prefers being indoors, perched near a window, where he can watch outside activities from a safe distance. When he’s not watching his “shows,” you will find him cuddled in his bed dreaming about the days of his youth. By the way, Ollie has not teeth. As such, he must be fed a diet of canned food, which makes him purrfectly happy. This talkative kitty offers loving companionship and would appreciate a home to spend his retirement years.

Hardcore Henry

Official Website

Starring: Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennett

Blu-ray

DVD

First things first – this movie is presented entirely in first person. The movie starts out with Henry waking up in a Bacta-like tank. He sees a beautiful doctor (Haley Bennett as Estelle) attaching cybernetic limbs. She informs him that she is his wife and that memory loss is a temporary side effect from the life saving procedures he has undergone. The base they are in gets raided by Akan (Danila Kozlovsky), a telekinetic meglomaniac, before his voice module gets installed. During Henry and Estelle’s escape, she gets captured by Akan and we are introduced to Jimmy (Sharlto Copley). The best friend the amnesiac Henry could hope for. Jimmy works with Henry for him to attempt to get a better battery for his systems, his wife back, revenge on Akan.

TL;DR – Fun action romp. Turn your brain off and enjoy the ride

Hank
As a former lost dog living on his own, this one-year-old Beagle and Hound blend is smart, affectionate, curious, friendly and playful. Hank is an ideal family dog, loving to be in the middle of what’s going on, especially if it can allow him to sit in someone’s lap. He can be a little timid at first meeting, but in all of sixty seconds you’ll find he’s already claiming you as his new BFF. Hank has the perfect balance in personality. The Beagle in him makes him great for an active family who will share in his desire to play and explore. The Hound in him makes him ideal for those who like to stop and smell the roses. Hank is a renaissance dog designed to fit any mood.

Mia
This bright-eyed, adult kitty, aptly named “Mama Mia,” was “in a family way” when she was found by Animal Control. This black-and-white beauty is a nurturer by nature and was the model mother to her litter of four. Now spayed and living a single girl’s life, she is every bit the relaxed, happy, ?and outgoing cat that tuxedo kitties are reputed to be?. In fact, any tuxedo cat’s human will tell you they are extremely intelligent, affectionate and likely to rule the roost?. If you’re wanting pussy cat perfection, Mia is the one for you. ?

Erased – Boku dake ga Inai Machi

12342366_884680578317970_7363150493950489306_n
From MyAnimeList: When tragedy is about to strike, Satoru Fujinuma finds himself sent back several minutes before the accident occurs. The detached, 29-year-old manga artist has taken advantage of this powerful yet mysterious phenomenon, which he calls “Revival,” to save many lives.

However, when he is wrongfully accused of murdering someone close to him, Satoru is sent back to the past once again, but this time to 1988, 18 years in the past. Soon, he realizes that the murder may be connected to the abduction and killing of one of his classmates, the solitary and mysterious Kayo Hinazuki, that took place when he was a child. This is his chance to make things right.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi follows Satoru in his mission to uncover what truly transpired 18 years ago and prevent the death of his classmate while protecting those he cares about in the present.

Based on the manga Boku dake ga Inai Machi by Kei Sanbe [finished with 8 volumes]

Streaming at: Crunchyroll , Funimation, Daisuki, and Hulu

This is one of my favorite anime that aired during the Winter 2016 season. I highly recommend checking this series out.

I do not want to go into too much detail, but this series had me on an emotional roller coaster at times. Satoru’s successes and failures drives the story along. Is this a perfect plot? Nope. A-1 Pictures did adapt a 44 chapter manga into 12 episodes, but this is one heck of an adaptation. I know some plot had to be shifted around to accommodate 12 episodes, but we still received a coherent, complete story.

I know this is a bit lacking as reviews go, but anymore would spoil this story.

The opening song Re:Re by Asian Kung Fu Generation is available digitally in America from Amazon and iTunes.

I am looking forward to this getting a physical release and hope the manga gets licensed in the US.
