Pets of the Week January 20, 2020

AuroraShe might not be as colorful as the Northern Lights, but Aurora is still quite the beauty. And those who love the sharp contrast of black and white will surely be attracted to this fabulous Border Collie-Labrador mix, as her markings are very eye-catching. But it’s her personality that will win you over in the end. Aurora is just a little over a year old, so she’s full of delightful energy, which she is more than willing to wear off during long walks or play sessions in the backyard. She’s sweet and loving, enjoying the company of people and dogs alike. You really should meet Aurora today.

ChloeIf your idea of the perfect cat is a big, fluffy black-and-butterscotch calico, Chloe is your girl. This six-year-old darling is a little bashful at first, but give her a few minutes of attention, and she opens up, asking for more scratches and cuddles. She’s used to being around other cats, so furry roommates shouldn’t be a problem. Chloe has also been an indoor-outdoor kitty, so she doesn’t mind getting a bit of fresh air, but she seems to like her creature comforts as well. Come fall in love with Chloe. It won’t take long.

SamsonSamson is one of those dogs that you simply must meet to fully appreciate. He’s a big, strong boy with an irresistibly affectionate personality. Being a Border Collie/Retriever mix, he’s not short on energy or intelligence, meaning he needs room to run and plenty of toys to occupy him. He is truly an all-around wonderful dog, being delighted to hang out with other dogs and every human who crosses his path. In fact, he loves attention so much, he will immediately roll onto his back, so he can get his favorite of all things – a belly rub. Samson is a handsome 4-year-old black-and-white pooch with a huge smile and even bigger heart.

TonyCalling all cat lovers – Tony is still looking for his forever home. If you’re seeking a feline companion who is sweet, well-behaved, and past that highly energetic kitten stage, this is your boy. Tony is 7 years old, so he’s settled into a gentle maturity that is sure to appeal to anyone. He’s very loving, greeting everyone he meets with a loud purr and a head butt. Plus, he’s quite the looker – a dashing black and white tuxedo, with 4 white paws and a splash of white between his eyes that looks like the stroke of a paint brush. Come fall in love before someone else does.

TiggerAny Winnie the Pooh fan knows this quote: “Tiggers don’t jump, they bounce!” That’s so true, and exactly why this adorable pup was named after that most popular of tigers. Tigger is a one-year-old brindle and white mixed breed with a fun, playful, and BOUNCY personality that will leave you laughing from sun up until sundown. He’s a truly happy fellow, always delighted to meet new people as well as other dogs. And he’s the perfect size, too – only 30 pounds, so not too big and not too small. Come meet this lovable goofball today.

MidnightAre you looking for a big ball of black fluff to warm your lap and fill your heart? If so, Midnight is your man. This handsome devil is about 4 years old, with long black hair and huge golden-yellow eyes. He’s quick to lean in for a scratch, snuggle, or head butt, and he’ll soothe you with his deep purr. He needs to be an indoor cat only, as he is declawed, but why would you want such a fantastic animal to leave your sight anyway? Midnight is waiting just for you.

But she has full confidence that her family is out there, and that they’ll adopt her before the new year. Madison is a 2-year-old black-and-white terrier mix with the heart and face of an angel. She loves everyone she meets, both two-legged and four-legged alike, and she is eager to prove she’s just as polite and well-behaved as she is pretty. Won’t you let Madison love you?

Pets of the Week December 16, 2019

LaylaLayla’s huge, sincere smile is a reflection of her big personality. She’s a ball of delightful energy, and she’ll swoop in for all the attention she can get. She’s a two-and-a-half-year-old gray and white terrier mix with a very expressive face and ears that stand tall and proud whenever she’s happy or excited, which is basically ALL the time. Layla has become a staff and volunteer favorite as she’s proven herself eager to learn, whether it’s “sit” and “down” or how to walk nicely on a leash at the dog park. She absolutely adores toys, and she’s hoping her Christmas stocking will be full of them, although her most heartfelt wish is to find a home. Won’t you welcome Layla into yours?

BlizzardBlizzard is a truly beautiful black-and-white tuxedo kitty with enormous golden-yellow eyes that radiate intelligence and just a touch of mischievousness, but that’s to be expected with any eight-month-old feline. She’s very personable and easy-going, accepting cuddles and scratches with good grace, but seeming just as content when left to her own devices. Blizzard is gentle, sweet, playful, and basically an all-around lovely cat. And she’d like nothing more than to make your holiday season the best one ever.
