UV Mapper Pro - Great Utility for making Templates and mapping 3D objects.
Vue d’Esprit - by e-on software. Great Landscape renderer
Bryce - formerly by Metacreations, now by Daz3D. Good Landscape renderer
Carrarra - formerly by Metacreations, then eovia now by Daz3D. Full Featured 3D renderer based on Ray Dream Studio

Maya - from AliasWavefront. I have only used the Free version from their site.

UV Mapper - Free version of UV Mapper that is excellent for generating templates and making minor corrections to models.

Daz Studio - Daz also has an app similar to Poser for free on their site. Any plugins do have a cost, tho.

Daz3D - Excellent Poser and Bryce models available.
Renderosity - Great Community site with a 3D store with items for most 3d software out there. They also have free items uploaded by members available.
RuntimeDNA - Excellent models available - mainly geared towards poser.
