Pets of the Week December 1, 2014

Goldie
Statuesque and stunning with a sprinkling of flower child, Goldie is a playful people pleaser. Her antics are irresistible, and this 4 year old girl could play all day. Toys of all shapes and sizes put a sparkle in her champagne colored eyes, but nothing brightens her day like a romp around the yard with new friends. Only 40 pounds, she is a “fun sized” American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a buttercup and cream coat. Goldie has plenty of brain behind all that extra beauty, and is working hard on learning new training tricks. A higher energy dog with a spring in her step, Goldie will fit in perfectly with an active home, especially ones with children or other dogs to play with. She’s still on the fence about kitty cats, and feels that tennis balls are more fun to play with. For now Goldie just wants to spread a little sunshine to everyone she meets, and hopes she can spend the holidays with her forever family.

Steve
Ever charming, Steve is a cat who’s as handsome as he is clever. Steve prefers to stay ahead of the game, so he keeps his huge amber eyes wide open on the lookout for his new family. He’s a substantial classic tabby with a thick, velvety coat. His fur gleams in rich warm tones, and his big soft paws love to reach out for a pat on the shoulder. Steve is the kind of feline that finds himself at home in most situations, so he’d be very happy living inside and out. Friendly as can be, Steve does well with other kitties. He hates being alone so much, that he’s often found some mornings curled up in his neighbor’s kennels. 4 years old and well-mannered, this furry friend is ready to head home today! He’s been talking up a storm about the life he hopes to lead with his forever family, and he’s keeping an eye out for that special loving person to come walking through the door.

Pets of the Week November 24, 2014

Shelby
3-year-old, Boxer/Chow Chow mix Shelby has been the “go-to girl” for showing shy dogs people can be trustworthy and giving fearful dogs hope for a happy life. She exudes joy romping around the yard with her puppy pals and being their caring teacher. Always the social butterfly, Shelby has been to many big and busy community events and is wonderful with people of all ages. She will fit well into any size home as long as she is given regular walks and, of course, a lot of love. Shelby has been such a big help to her shelter mates and it’s time for her to take it easy and enjoy being a pampered pet in your home.

Diana
A picture of feline fancy, Diana is a dream come true. At 6 months old, she’s still a spritely kitten but has a mellow streak that makes napping a priority. Diana is more than happy to share her future home with other pets and she’s especially fond of friendly cats and kittens. Laid back and loving, she proudly flaunts a beautiful, short, tabby coat. When not cuddled up with a kitty cat kennel mate, Diana is practicing for her life as a house pet. She has been keeping her litter box spick-and-span, and only fusses with her bedding to make it more inviting for people to come and visit her. Diana is always on the lookout for her forever family and seems intent on being picked up and cuddled close by everyone she meets. There is no need for you to keep day dreaming about the snuggly kitten you’ve always wanted; Diana is waiting patiently hoping that you’ll come and see her soon.

Pets of the Week November 17, 2014

Alice
What is a young dog to do when she finds herself lost and alone on her first big adventure? First things first, she must keep her spirits high. Alice has that part covered because even though 7 months old seems awfully young to be on one’s own, she has a constant smile on her face. The next step on the journey to find a new home is making new friends along the way. Good thing that Alice doesn’t have any idea what the word stranger means. New faces mean new friends to this cream and grey pup. Playing with other pets comes naturally to Alice as well. She’s still got a few things to learn but training is fun and rewarding with this happy-go-lucky gal, so she should fit in well with most families that have the time to nurture her growing mind. Alice knows all the steps to finding her way in the world, but she still gets a little lonely so her favorite part of the day is spent sitting with a caring member of the shelter’s staff as they dream about her new loving home.

PIerce
He was trapped when tiny at a lakeside feral colony, but 8-month-young Pierce is quite the opposite of wild; he’s so innately refined he was born in a Tuxedo, and his cheerful, humming purr and snugly face rubs will chase any doubts about his love for humans. (He’ll be shy for a moment, then his lap cat instincts kick in, and he’s as calm and comforting a friend as you’ll find). Pierce is good with other cats, gentle with kids, and gets along happily with well- mannered dogs, too. He could be a fine house feline who’ll never need to dress for dinner, or live inside/outside as long as you’re available for a serious affection-fest, with purrs aplenty and some soft kneading, too. Pierce’s already neutered and ready to go home today, come and be caught by a warm companion in formal wear.

Pets of the Week November 3, 2014

Sibby
You cannot possibly have TOO much chocolate! That’s the message Sibby wants families to know. She is a one year old pup, with a rich and dreamy personality that has all the scrumptious qualities that you adore from a Labrador mix. She has a well-mannered, sophisticated side that has adults hooked, and a fun loving, sweetness that kids of all ages can’t get enough of. Her coat is a milky cocoa, with deeper fudgy ripples, and her hazel eyes twinkle brightly when she’s meeting new visitors. Sibby melts right into your arms and loves to be close to people, but her active nature means she can add a sugar rush to your spirit and get your family moving. She’s “family sized” at 50 pounds of pooch, and would probably fit best in a home with some wiggle room. If you have a craving to add a joyful new member to your family, come meet Sibby and learn how this loving lady delights more than any other bonbon in the box.

Red
Brilliant and blushing, Red is ready to warm up your heart. He was trapped from a feral cat colony as a wee little spark and was raised in a caring foster home where he perfected his house kitten skills. He is 5 months old and frisky through and through. Red will play with anyone and anything, because to him all friends are best friends, no matter if they have two legs or four. His vivid orange tabby stripes are set ablaze by his glowing personality, and his short coat is streamlined and sleek. You can even hear him purr from across the room; that is if you can stop laughing at his charming antics long enough to listen. Long and leggy, Red is destined to be a larger cat, radiating happiness to his lucky family from his whiskers to his tippy toes. Perched in his kennel like a plucky little cardinal, Red waits to catch the eye of that special someone looking to let their spirit soar!

Pets of the Week October 27, 2014

Mario
Mario’s a “game changer” who’s ready to race his way into your family and heart. This two-year-old, Labrador and Husky mix sports a grey sable coat and is looking to spring a little adventure into your life. He’s been searching high and low for his new family and has picked up great manners along the way. Always ready to one-up your expectations, Mario has been learning commands and showing them off at adoption events. Your home doesn’t have to be a castle for this medium-sized character to feel at home because all he wants is your love and friendship. He thinks children are just peachy and pet pals are great too. Mario is ready to take his game to a new level and find a family to complete his quest for boundless love.

Cider
As each season passes, new possibilities fall into our lives and Cider is hoping for good changes of her own. Cider’s beauty captivates all those who meet her, with her eyes that blend from green to gold just as the seasons blend summer to fall. Her coat is a long and luxurious mix of autumn’s finest hues, like fallen amber leaves. Cider is friendly and warm with other animal friends, but is more of a cuddle buddy than a playful pouncer. If this 4 year old feline could tell you her favorite way to while away an afternoon, it would be snuggled up close to you with a cozy blanket. An indoor life is just her cup of tea and she works hard to make no messes and keep her spaces tidy. Cider is ready to bring a new glow to her forever home and welcome in the new season alongside her own family.
