Pets of the Week February 12, 2018

Hunter’s name is quite fitting because he’s part Pointer, loves to be outside, and is always willing to chase his favorite toys around the backyard. He’s about a year old and full of energy, which he burns off by running and playing with his favorite human. Hunter is more than happy to accept affection and praise, but he also has an independent streak and really needs a large fenced-in yard allowing him to get the exercise he requires while keeping him safely contained. He’s a charming and handsome dog, medium-sized with a lovely white and chocolate brown coat. Come visit Hunter and see if he’s the one piece that’s been missing in the puzzle of your life.

Much like the Caped Crusader for whom he’s named, this kitty initially seems somewhat quiet and reserved. At 8 months old, Batman prefers an environment that is quiet and calm. Routine is his friend. At night, his superhero persona kicks in and he’s ready for action and showing off his martial arts skills. He is an attractive fellow, dressed all in black, with just the slightest touch of white on his chest. His bright golden-yellow eyes radiate intelligence, and it’s easy to get lost in his gaze and mystery.

Pets of the Week February 5, 2018

Buster’s big brown eyes are as captivating as his wide smile. This 9-month-old Hound mix has a sunny disposition and loads of energy, and all he wants is someone who will love his goofy self. Because he’s young and spirited, he needs a place where he can run, chase tennis balls, chew on bones, and enjoy the freedom to burn off his puppy-ish exuberance. Buster weighs about 40 lbs, and he’s quite handsome, with a black and white coat, highlighted with lighter black spots. A home without small children would be more suited for his high energy, but another dog or two could be a great doggie blend for him.

From Garthena’s photo, you’d think this was simply an elegant, calm cat who loves to lie around, posing for the camera. How wrong you would be. She is indeed beautiful — with a jet black coat, splash of white on her chest, and bright golden eyes — but this little girl is also a ball of energy. She likes affection, but when she’s ready to get back to chasing around her toys, she’ll jump straight out of your arms and take off again. At just 6 months old, Garthena is likely to stay in kitten mode for quite some time, so she needs a family that will give her the playtime she craves.

Pets of the Week January 29, 2018

Even without such striking eyes – one icy blue, one chocolatey brown – Max would be a remarkably handsome dog. He’s a medium-sized, 9-month-old Siberian Husky mix with a beautiful blond coat accented with white. But his appeal doesn’t stop with his good looks. He’s also friendly and affectionate and a true outdoorsman. He loves to run and is hoping to find an active family that will take him hiking and jogging. Max is intelligent and eager to please, but because he’s so exuberant, he really needs a home without small children. He appears willing to make friends with other dogs and may even tolerate feline buddies. Come visit Max today.

Dion is looking for a family that knows all about cats. He’s sweet and friendly, but like many felines, he wants to be the one to initiate contact. Although he gets along well with other kitties, he can be a bit reserved at first around people and asks that you allow him to make himself at home in his own time. A big handsome boy, Dion weighs in at around 12 pounds. He sports a sleek orange and white coat, and his large amber eyes radiate intelligence. At just over 3 years old, he’s grown out of that highly energetic kitten phase and settled nicely into a calmer maturity.

Pets of the Week January 22, 2018

This pretty little Retriever mix may not be quite as funny as Lucille Ball, but her antics are sure to leave you laughing. Lucy is one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet, greeting everyone with kisses and a frantically wagging tail. She loves grown-ups and kids alike and seems eager to play with other pups. She’s an energetic small-to-medium-sized dog with a lovely tan coat accented with white, which runs down from the top of head to cover the right side of her muzzle. At just a little over a year old, Lucy has plenty of years ahead of her to love and be loved.

This adorable orange Tabby is looking for a home where he’ll get loads of attention. Vergil is laidback and a bit shy to begin with, but once he realizes he’s part of the family, he’ll return the affection he’s given tenfold. He would be delighted to have kitty brothers or sisters, so they can all play together and snuggle once the activity is over. This handsome 4-month-old kitty is sure to bring joy to any household. Visit Vergil at Petco in Greenwood.

Pets of the Week January 15, 2018

As soon as Russell gives you one of his trademark big grins and snuggly hugs, you’ll be sold. This 18-month-old black and white Labrador Retriever mix is as sweet as they come, and his personality definitely reflects the Lab side. He’s packed with energy and eager to please, and nothing makes him happier than getting a belly rub for good behavior. Russell seems to be accepting of other dogs, so he would probably be content to have furry brothers and sisters. Because he is quite young and very active, a large fenced-in yard would be ideal, so he can regularly stretch those super long legs.

If you’re a cat lover, Amelia will make your day and life. She’s about 2 years old and no longer living in the rambunctious kitten stage and has settled into a quiet, laid-back way of life. She’s now content to sit by a window and watch the fascinating things happening on the other side of the glass. This sweet-tempered Tabby is as pretty as she is calm and easy-going, displaying a beautiful orange blend throughout her brown coat of very soft hair.
