Pets of the Week February 16, 2015

Buddy Bear
February can bring on a big case of the “Winter Blues,” but fret not because Buddy Bear has enough warmth to keep the chill at bay. Buddy Bear has had his share of sad days; he has a sensitive spirit and the stress of life at an animal shelter can be hard, but this 1 year old pup refuses to give up. He’s growing happier and healthier every day, and this handsome retriever mix is ready to pay it forward to the family of his dreams. Buddy Bear is a big boy, who will need some extra living space to thrive. His short tan and sable coat seems to highlight the sunny disposition he has inside. Buddy Bear’s in need of a home with older children and experience raising canine family members so that he can flourish and continue to grow. He’s ready to get a fresh start this spring, and he’ll do his best to thank you with love that lasts a lifetime!

Daphne
Daphne is dewy fresh, and downy soft. This feminine feline has charm for days, and she’s easy on the eyes as well. Daphne is cloaked in a shiny, short, black and white coat which she’ll gladly let you cuddle when you come to visit her. This 1 year old is a joy to be around and spreads that same warm and fuzzy feeling to other pets as well. Daphne is a great fit for families with children since she’s playful enough to romp around the house, but wise enough not to get too rough. She’s always up for a chat, and loves to meow at visitors while she shows off how clean she keeps her kennel and litter box. Even though Daphne is a complete package, she seems to know that an important piece is missing. Why have all this love to give, and no one to share it with? A forever home with a special family is all that’s left for Daphne to live the perfect life she was born to enjoy.

Pets of the Week February 9, 2015

Ginger
Ginger may be the cutest little firecracker you’re ever going to meet. She refuses to let the little “bumps” in life get in her way. She’s a Miniature Pinscher mix who has a bright and beaming attitude to match her shiny red coat. Ginger has picked up a few injuries over her 7 years of life, but nicked ears and leg limps give her extra character and for a dog her size, she has a long life to lead with a lucky family. Ginger loves to go on walks and visit new places, plus she does excellent on leash; she also does very well with other dogs, but she thinks cats are really fun to chase so she would do best in a home with no cats. Ginger has been a house pet before, and when she’s not prancing about trying to make you smile, her favorite place to be is in your lap. Let Ginger teach you to treat every challenge as a chance to shine, and come visit her today!

Aster
Fresh and airy, Aster flits about making new friends wherever she goes. She’s a clown wrapped in a soft tabby coat and she’s ready to take her show on the road. Aster is only 9 months old and still has a little growing up to do, but this petite girl is smart, sweet, and ready to become a part of a loving home. She is gentle enough for other pets and small children, but lively enough to add the perfect spark to any family. Aster has manners when it comes to keeping clean around the house, so she will fit nicely into a house or apartment. Her light-hearted nature and wildflower spirit are going to give a lucky family a brand new outlook. Aster is just what you need to chase the winter blues away!

Pets of the Week February 2, 2015

Autumn
Autumn has been wishing away these chilly winter days with thoughts of a warm cozy house and a happy family to play with. She’s a dreamer with a very simple heartfelt desire to be a part of a loving home. Autumn will turn 6 months old in a few short weeks, and has spent much of her puppy youth at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter. Medium-sized and smart as a whip, she has learned lots of fun tricks and games, as well as becoming a wonderful puppy playmate with other dogs. She even tries to play with cats, although some finicky felines may not appreciate her idea of fun. Autumn is a beautiful mix of Plott Hound and Labrador and she has a thick, short red brindle coat. She is very well-mannered on walks and at events and she loves to play with children. Autumn is an eternal optimist and she knows that spring is on its way! With sunny days ahead, the perfect family must be out there looking for a fun pup with all the love in the world to give.

Poptart
Far more than just a pretty face, Poptart is the perfect pick-me-up. This quiet and demure feline almost seems to blush when you look her way. Her short coat is caught somewhere in between Tabby and Calico, so she sports stripes and splashes of brown, orange, grey, and white. Her eyes glow emerald green and catch the attention of all new visitors. Poptart is a master muffin-maker, always pawing away with delight when people come to see her. It’s impossible to be worried or upset for long with this 1 year old kitty by your side. A few minutes of affection form this beautiful cat and all the stress of the day just melts away with the sound of her soft purr. Poptart is an easy-keeper with good litter box manners and a prim and clean nature. She could snuggle her way into any type of household and seems very fit to be an inside kitty cat. A visit with Poptart may be a great way to start your day, but the lucky family who gets to adopt this little lady has a lifetime of love to look forward to.

Pets of the Week January 26, 2015

Dempsey
It’s hard to take your eyes off this charmer. Dempsey has earned his dreamboat status and can’t wait to be a part of a new family. He takes great care to keep is thick tan coat clean, and he’s already house trained. At 5 years old, he is past many of the pesky puppy training issues, but Dempsey is a frisky pooch and loves to run in the yard and go on long walks. A McDreamy mix of Shepherd and Chow Chow, loyalty and devotion run deep with this handsome canine. Dempsey is a medium-sized dog and will be able to thrive in large or small homes. Dempsey plays well with other pets, but seems more focused on pleasing people. He is well mannered with children of all ages and will be a wonderful addition to a loving family. Dempsey is ready to make his grand debut with a forever home he can call all his own.

Carly
Carly is a modern gal on a mission to become your new BFF. She has lots to say and loves to ”talk” about all the latest gossip, and she would like nothing more than to meow the day away in a warm lap. At 11 months old this teenager is as sweet as can be, and has learned how to keep her toys picked up and her litter box tidy. She may spend a lot of time primping her black and white Tuxedo coat, but that’s a small price to pay for style. Carly is a friendly, outgoing, people-pleaser who always wants to impress everyone she meets. She’s a very happy feline who loves to purr and rub on visitors. Her all-time favorite thing in the whole wide world is a good scratch under her little round chin. Carly is ready to celebrate her big birthday bash soon and would really like a family to share in all the fun. Love and a forever home are all this pretty girl needs to make her life complete and Carly just can’t wait to be your new best friend.

Pets of the Week January 19, 2015

Peter
Perfectly personifying puppy power, Peter is just about the niftiest pup you will meet. He’s 7 months old and a bit of a flirt, with a weakness for giving kisses and playing with every pet and person that he meets. It’s like he thinks he’s throwing the world’s best party and everyone is invited! Peter is a medium sized American Staffordshire terrier mix, with just a bit more growing left to do, so he will fit right into most sized homes as long as plenty of play and exercise is provided. This puppy loves other dogs and would thrive in a loving home with other pets to play with. Peter has an “easy care” short coat with white and brown patches, plus the cutest little freckles on his muzzle. He loves to hit the town and explore, so if you’ve been searching for a social partner to go on long walks with, Peter is the dog you’ve been waiting for. Uptown, downtown, to parks, and to pet stores Peter would happily follow his family anywhere. So get ready to make a new best friend, and come meet Peter today!

Kanga
Kanga has grown by leaps and bounds from the tiny feral kitten she was when her journey began. Now a beautiful 1 year old feline, she is ready to settle down and share the next chapter in her story with a caring family all her own. Kanga is as loving and gentle as her namesake from the classic Pooh tales, and she always seems to find the best spots to cuddle in. Although Kanga does wonderfully with other pets and with children, she likes to take things slow when she settles into new surroundings. She loves to show off her irresistibly soft brown tabby coat, and will “talk” in mews and chirps to get your attention. Kanga loves to perch up high to get the best view of all the potential families that come in to visit and she keeps her kennel spotless to show just how well she will behave in her new home. Kanga is a truly special cat with a wealth of love to give her forever family, and she’s ready to go home today and begin her new life with you.
