Pet of the Week – September 19, 2011

Her mood is like her right ear — always up, and her smile is always on, too. That’s because winsome young American Staffordshire/Box mix Jada loves life and everyone in it — you, other dogs, and kids of all sizes, too. Jada’s owners moved and couldn’t take her; now some other fortunate family will bask in her affectionate energy and laugh at her nonstop antics. Jada thinks fun time and petting time are all the time; she’s a gentle playmate who’ll always stop to kiss you, then she’ll kiss her dog friends, too!

The morning sunshine comes in cat form apparently, because the Adoption Center has it in Cage 1 — not the hot afternoon sun that beats down and bakes you, the rosy-orange gentle sun that makes the day so pleasant to start. This morning sun is named Sierra, and she warms everyone around her with her sweetness; her purr will start the moment you pet her, that’s another way she’ll comfort you — one of many.

The Greenwood Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the compassionate care and protection of animals.

Their purpose is to give sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, provide education to the public on responsible and humane pet ownership, encourage the public to spay and neuter their pets by providing low cost surgery, and encourage adoptions of those animals placed in their care.
