He’s a gentleman so replete with Southern hospitality he comes with second helpings of himself — and 3rd and 4ths, too! Our gentle orange Big Boy’s so large he’s like the Louisiana Purchase, a vast territory of friendship, massively loving and infinitely delightful, ready to annex himself to that special person who values the beauty of a companion who’s waistline-challenged. At 7 years old Big Boy’s health is just fine, thank you, he eats special food to maintain his present figure; he was turned in by his owner and is looking for a home with grownups who’ll pet to him to hear his capacious purr; cats, big kids and mannerly dogs are fine too. Hold him in your lap and admire his pleasing girth and his clean, carefully groomed coat, then put him down and watch him drag his pillow around and hide under it like he’s a turtle with a shell. Big Boy’s just entertaining himself; he’s not shy at all, and he’s much cozier than a turtle. The Greenwood Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the compassionate care and protection of animals.
Their purpose is to give sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, provide education to the public on responsible and humane pet ownership, encourage the public to spay and neuter their pets by providing low cost surgery, and encourage adoptions of those animals placed in their care.
Their adoption center is open Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm est.
