He stands just knee high to his roommate but there’s nothing small about Hambone’s pet-stature; his heart alone could fill half our kennels, and his love of life — and YOU — the rest. This 3 year-old Chihuahua/mix BFF was found stray near Frank’s car wash, either trying to help or just enjoying the crowd; he adores kids and lapped up the whip cream on his little girl-partner’s face like a champ at our Dog Walk Kiss-Off. Hambone’s a hit with other dogs too; his playgroup looks up to him but he doesn’t boss them around, and he thinks cats are great, no problem. He’s innately cooperative and enthralled with making you happy; he comes when you call him at a mighty gallop and will settle in your arms like a warm brown baby until you’re ready to put him down. See how many eons of pleasure our little-big Hambone will bring you.

Prepare to be idolized by a black satin cat so replete with quiet affection you’ll ache to hold him closer. Aztec was found stray in Hodges, a dignified 5-year-old statesman who considers his words carefully and then purrs instead; he’s so gentle he’ll knead your open palm without hurting, and so pliable he’ll let you hold him like a baby, proud to call you his very own cradle. Aztec’s a gleaming example of peaceful intelligence, richly giving but not needy; a loyal friend and family member who’ll show your kids how attentive a cat-sidekick can be, and remind you that unconditional love’s absolutely the best kind. Feel the sheen of Aztec’s deep friendship today.

At the annual Dog Walk he was a rock star in fox-red, confidently making new friends in a crush of kids, commotion and some giant canines too; despite his compact size, 5-year-old terrier/mix Sparky’s a large-hearted boy, with a face as exquisitely sensitive as his manners, and penchant for dispensing sunny kisses on request. Sparky was found stray in Hunter’s Creek, a mystery for sure; he’s 17 lbs. of playfulness and a favorite in his dog play group, but call him and he’ll run to you, ready to give you every ounce of his calm, loving regard. Sparky’s versatile, intelligent and imminently trainable, outside he’s a gentle playmate who’ll romp carefully with your little ones, inside he’s the most affectionately dignified lap dog you’ll meet. Come see how many facets of companionship are packed in this single exceptional friend; Sparky will capture your heart in a second and you’ll never want it back.

Her etiquette lesson’s as warm and winsome as her face is in person, and her lovely demeanor makes you want to pour a nice cup of tea with her and chat away the problems of the world. Meet 3-year-old Clara and you’ll see that she looks like a children’s book illustration come to life — she’s classically quaint, dainty and feminine, with a soft, fluffy coat so polite she barely sheds. Clara was turned in because her owner had money problems, she’s friendly with other cats but her first interest is in you; call her and she’ll trot over with a delicate meow; intelligent, responsive and genuinely pleased to meet you. Clara’s gently refined habits make her a lovely choice for older kids, or a single who wants a stalwart friend who only looks fragile. Come stroke your affectionate new ally for life, Clara’s to ready to enrich your home today with her forever-comforting company.

He’s as supremely “Boxer” as a Boxer can be — a bright, energetic, playful young athlete; a credit to his breed with every fiber of his rollicking one-year-old being, and the find of the century for Boxer lovers, who understand the vast love and faithfulness these dogs are famous for. Aspen’s owner had to move to an apartment and sadly gave him up, now this splendidly handsome boy’s set to respond to your training and leadership. Aspen’s smart, a careful listener, and avidly affectionate; he gets along beautifully with other dogs and offers a treasure trove of friendship for your family — we recommend big kids because of his size and exuberance, and an inside/outside home. Meet Aspen and see how quickly he becomes your paradise in white; his heart’s big, strong and true, and ready to return your resounding friendship.

She’s all that autumn has to offer without the blazing colors; 2-year-old Fall wears swatches of orange, gold and tan as muted as her meow, and she’s as cozy as a fire on the first chilly night, too. Fall was turned in by her owner and she’s a little shy at first, but scratch her back and she’ll reward you with a gentle head butt, an ermine-soft face rub, and the full attention of her exquisite tri-color face, immaculate white chin and all. Fall is full grown and forever petite; she’s tidy and civilized, accepting of other pets, and happy to spend some time outside in the sun as long as she can come in to share her warmth with you. Hear how pleasingly her tender purr wards off winter; Fall is here in her full-sweet glory, and she’ll make your hearth and home as complete as your dreams.
