Pets of the Week April 30, 2018

Cocoa is a big, sweet-tempered love bug who’s more than happy to prove that no matter how much you weigh, you can still snuggle. She’s a 2-year-old milk chocolate-colored Retriever-Terrier mix with a huge grin that hardly ever leaves her face and a tail that rarely stops wagging. She loves toys, especially ones she can chew up, and she’s hoping to find a canine companion who’s as big and strong and playful as she is. Cocoa is one of the Humane Society of Greenwood’s Teddy Bear Terriers, a fun, cuddly name created to show the true sweet inner nature of Pitbulls and Pit mixes. She recently went through heartworm treatment, but that never affected her loving, kind personality one bit. Don’t you need a Teddy Bear Terrier in your life?

This regal kitty is named after Nefertari, the Egyptian Queen. The name means “The Beautiful Companion,” which is perfect for this sweet, loving, 2-year-old brown and white tabby. Nephie is a quiet girl, a little bashful at first, but quick to warm up to those she meets, showing off her affectionate nature by rubbing her head under your chin and settling in for cuddles. She prefers a somewhat peaceful environment rather than a rambunctious one. That being said, when she’s in the mood, she’s more than happy to show off her playful side. Nephie seems to be relaxed around children and other cats, so she should be content in a variety of home situations. Adopt this royal beauty today.

Pets of the Week April 23, 2018

Cooper is a big, strapping guy with an irresistible grin, loads of playful energy, and a heart of gold. He’s a handsome 1-year-old Labrador-Boxer mix with a shiny coppery-brown coat accented with a small white patch on his chest. He recently completed training through the Pawsitive Prison Program, where he learned about 20 different commands, including Sit, Heel, Get Dressed, and more. Cooper is very active, so he is hoping to find a home with someone who will give him the exercise he needs as well as continue his training. He’s extremely loving, always happy to meet new people, and he gets along with other dogs as well. Swing by the Adoption Center and meet this sweet fellow today.

Sheeba is a true queen among cats. As a Tortoiseshell, she’s nothing short of beautiful, and her sweet, ladylike personality means that all who meet her, love her. Sheeba is about a year and a half old, so she’s just moved past that high-energy kitten stage, preferring instead to lounge in her favorite spot, soaking up the love and attention of her humans, and simply looking gorgeous. She’s very social and affectionate, happily greeting everyone who approaches her, and once she settles in for a nice long snuggle session, she’ll charm you with her loud purring. Go meet this regal feline today.

Rampage

Rampage was a fun giant monster game back in the day.

Rampage is a fun giant monster movie with the Rock. Nothing more to say. That is all the plot you need.

There are some slow spots, but this was a fun watch.

Pets of the Week April 16, 2018

Sam is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He’s a 3-year-old, brown and white Pointer mix weighing in at about 75 pounds, but when you see his big goofy grin, you’ll see who Sam truly is: an intelligent, sweet boy who simply wants to be loved. He enjoys the company of other dogs, especially if they are willing to run and jump around with him. But his greatest joy comes from spending time with his humans. He simply loves to be petted, hugged, and snuggled. Sam spent several weeks training in the Pawsitive Prison Program, and he obeys most of the commands he learned there. He is hoping to find a new home with someone who is willing to continue teaching him and who will return the affection he so readily gives.

When this handsome fellow rubs up against your leg and begs for attention, he’s sure to steal your heart. Harley is an 11-month-old buff and white kitty with super-soft, medium-length hair and big golden eyes. He’s quite the talker, cooing and purring as he rolls around on his bed, looking relaxed and comfortable. Harley is very active as well, rearranging his sleeping area, tossing around his toys, and basically showing off to anyone who will watch. He loves getting petted and scratched, and he doesn’t mind being picked up gently, but when he’s ready to get down, he’ll let you know. So he’d probably do best with older children who won’t be tempted to just scoop him up and carry him around.

A Quiet Place

This was an intense movie.

Do not expect answers. We jump into this world 89 days after … whatever happened, happened.

We follow a family who has their routine down to avoid the monsters. From going barefoot to cut down on sounds – to talking in sign language. I do not want to give anything away – just go see this.

The premise of this movie and the implementation are amazing. No words from me will do this justice.

Starring: Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cade Woodward
