Pets of the Week May 6, 2019

ChewieHow could you possibly resist those big brown eyes and that silly gap-toothed grin? Chewie is certainly hoping that you can’t. He’s named after the beloved Star Wars character because, well, that’s who he looks like. He’s a one-year-old Chow Chow mix with a soft, medium-length light brown coat accented with darker brown on his muzzle, ears, and ruff. Chewie has loads of energy and plenty of love to pass around. He is currently recovering from heartworm treatment, so he needs a couple more weeks of calm, but he’ll soon be ready to show off his playful, fun side again.

MaddieMaddie is all dressed up and ready to party with her new family. This gorgeous 7-month-old black-and-white tuxedo kitty is truly something special. She has plenty of energy, as you would expect from such a young cat, but she has just as much love and affection, and she’s hoping to find someone who will give it back ten-fold. She’s special in another way as well – she’s FIV positive, but that’s not a big deal for her or anyone else. Both of her roommates have been adopted, and she wants nothing more than to find her own forever home.

Adoption fees waived for the pets of the week through Saturday!

Hellboy 2019

First, let me say that I am basing the 2.5 Stars score solely on the merits of this film. I am not comparing it to the other Hellboy films.

The good – faithful to the comics. A lot of the comics.

The Bad – too many storylines from the comics were used. I tihnk it would have been better to just stick with one and told that story.

The storytelling felt all over the place. Hellboy did not feel like Hellboy. He was not the Everyman coming in – he was a whiny and complaining. He jsut reacted to events and rarely felt like he was doing anything himself.

If they do go ahead with a sequel, I hope the filmmakers can work together instead of against each other (Studio interference stories do not do anything for this film).

Starring: David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, Daniel Dae Kim, Sasha Lane, Penelope Mitchell, Brian Gleeson, Sophie Okonedo, Allstair Petrie, Thomas Hadden Church

Synopsis: DEMONS HAVE DEMONS TOO
Hellboy comes to England, where he must defeat Nimue, Merlin’s consort and the Blood Queen. But their battle will bring about the end of the world, a fate he desperately tries to turn away.
