Pets of the Week January 23, 2017

Buddy, my buddy. What a guy he is. His eyes, those amazing “love me” eyes he has. If you look right into them, you will have an instant soul connection with him. He’s a big boy who thinks he meets lap dog qualifications, so expect him to invite himself into your experience. Treats will seal the deal of his friendship and long-term commitment and he’ll reward you with a big smile, happy wag, and sloppy wet kisses. Buddy loves people and he loves other dogs. He’s what the world needs right now.

Ginger’s idea of entertainment is to be perched at a window watching birds. She knows all of the different species by name (in Latin), their migration patterns, and many trivial birdie fun facts. (I know, right?) In between her bird studies, she naps. After she naps, she naps. A word of warning: Ginger snaps if she doesn’t get her naps. But after getting her 20 hours of sleep in, she’s ready for the day and all that those remaining four hours will bring. Interested in a cat who requires as much effort as growing weeds? Adopt Ginger.

Pets of the Week January 16, 2017

Frosty the snow cat is declawed on her front feet. She can run, have fun, but not in the sun, she’s a cat you need to meet. She’s white as vanilla and enjoys her quiet space. She is shy and coy and is filled with joy when you’re not up in her face.

Chocolate as a Willy Wonka candy bar, Neil is the epitome of the All-American happy Lab. Seasoned at 8 years old, yet chock full of puppy personality, this guy doesn’t lie around wasting the day. Instead, all of his 92 lbs enjoys the sunshine, rain, or snow — he likes it all. He gallops the yard making sure all varmints are at a safe distance and checks that all balls have been retrieved. Mature, but young at heart and high on life, Neil is the perfect dog.

Class clown, cheerleader, and town crier are all perfect descriptions of Esther. Not only does she rally other dogs to play and check that they’re okay, she’s alert to everything going on to bring you up-to-the-minute news. You can’t get anything by this young girl. Some would call her a “show-off” or “nosey,” but she really just sees herself as being active in her community. This entertaining dog is perfect for the family who will include her in their activities where she’ll bring her special love to share.

Want a turn-key indoor cat? Domino is it! He’s been described as relaxed, not fazed by anything, and a chill dude. He purrs nonstop and kids are no problem for him. His mellow yellow attitude could be because of the many hours of sleep he enjoys. He sleeps a lot! If there is a cozy lap in the near vicinity, it’s a sure bet that he’ll find his way to it and on it. Need to reduce your blood pressure? Want a friend who loves you no matter how you look getting out of the shower? Adopt Domino today!

What better name for a warm, fuzzy, and sweet cat than “Peaches?” This plus-size girl is sassy and proud, and the kind of friend who will tell you exactly what she thinks. Being the single-minded cat that she is, she also prefers to be the only cat that there is. She, alone, is more than capable to fulfill your pet companionship needs. She is just peachy with the comforts of indoor life, food and water dishes filled to the brim, and dreams of endless fluffy pillows to sleep upon. Visit this gorgeous brown tabby kitty and enjoy the uniqueness that is all Peaches.

At the shelter is a Hound and Shepherd mix, who loves to play and do tricks. Baylee is her name, and playing with toys is her fame, but she favors giving smooches and licks.

Pets of the Week December 26, 2016

Kris was a stray who was clearly in need of a meal or four. Now eating regularly and gaining weight, his handsome good looks and calm demeanor attract attention from everyone. But he’s a little cautious, and even a bit sad, being in the unknown surroundings of the shelter. To overcome this, Kris needs a home where he can be the blonde Retriever that he is and allowed to enjoy chasing balls and snuggling on the couch. He has many great years ahead of him and much joy to share with others.

If the size of a cat’s head indicates how smart he is, Ted is brilliant! This adult gray guy is quite laid back and seems to be a skilled observer. His safe place is a cozy corner where he can be camouflaged and take note of everything he sees. For sure he is planning to pen his great American novel. A soft pat on the head or soft rub of the shoulders is Ted’s bliss. He’s a quiet and willing friend to all.
