Pets of the Week January 19, 2015

Peter
Perfectly personifying puppy power, Peter is just about the niftiest pup you will meet. He’s 7 months old and a bit of a flirt, with a weakness for giving kisses and playing with every pet and person that he meets. It’s like he thinks he’s throwing the world’s best party and everyone is invited! Peter is a medium sized American Staffordshire terrier mix, with just a bit more growing left to do, so he will fit right into most sized homes as long as plenty of play and exercise is provided. This puppy loves other dogs and would thrive in a loving home with other pets to play with. Peter has an “easy care” short coat with white and brown patches, plus the cutest little freckles on his muzzle. He loves to hit the town and explore, so if you’ve been searching for a social partner to go on long walks with, Peter is the dog you’ve been waiting for. Uptown, downtown, to parks, and to pet stores Peter would happily follow his family anywhere. So get ready to make a new best friend, and come meet Peter today!

Kanga
Kanga has grown by leaps and bounds from the tiny feral kitten she was when her journey began. Now a beautiful 1 year old feline, she is ready to settle down and share the next chapter in her story with a caring family all her own. Kanga is as loving and gentle as her namesake from the classic Pooh tales, and she always seems to find the best spots to cuddle in. Although Kanga does wonderfully with other pets and with children, she likes to take things slow when she settles into new surroundings. She loves to show off her irresistibly soft brown tabby coat, and will “talk” in mews and chirps to get your attention. Kanga loves to perch up high to get the best view of all the potential families that come in to visit and she keeps her kennel spotless to show just how well she will behave in her new home. Kanga is a truly special cat with a wealth of love to give her forever family, and she’s ready to go home today and begin her new life with you.

Pets of the Week January 15, 2015

Carter
Carter is a spunky pup with a friendly, adventurous spirit. He’s just 11 months old and is happy to play with each and every person he meets. He loves to romp through the yard in search of hidden tennis balls and stashes of toys, but is polite enough not to dig holes to find buried treasure. Carter has a sleek dark brindle coat that is easy to keep clean and he plays well with other dogs. He isn’t a fan of cats, so he needs a home without any felines. Carter is an active dog with drive that would be great for jogging, hiking, or epic games of fetch in the back yard. He’s a go-anywhere, do-anything kind of companion who is ready to explore the world with his new family. He’s all set to head out to discover new territory; all he needs is a home base and a few trusty companions who are ready for a life changing adventure with an amazing forever friend.

Cranberry
Quiet as a mouse, you would never expect how much affection could pour out of one little black cat. Cranberry is filled to the brim with more love than she could ever expend, so she’s looking for a family to lavish her attention on. Cranberry is only a year old, but has a gentle and easy soul. She dotes on other pets and would adore a home with other animals to cuddle with. Cranberry is a picture perfect example of a well-mannered house cat; her litter box stays tidy and she loves to make tiny nests out of her blankets. Solid black with a tiny white star on her chest, Cranberry is beautiful inside and out. Her ideal home is anywhere you are because she knows the true value of a warm, loving family. Make Cranberry a part of your lives today and add all the love and happiness you could ever hope for, to your home.

Wiggles
Wiggles is an 11 month old pup that has perfected one awesome move. She has the ability to shimmy her way right into your heart, lap, arms, and living room — all places she would love to tumble into as soon as she can! Wiggles weighs 45lb so she will fit snuggly into any sized home, as long as she gets plenty of exercise and time to dance around with her family. This happy-go-lucky puppy has a pretty tan and grey short coat, with a pair of brown eyes that will melt your heart. Wiggles has a lot of playful energy and would do best in a home with older children and a family that is looking to add some cheer to their days. Wiggles is easy to please and needs room to romp around the park. Visit this wiggly giggly pup today and start you New Year with a fun forever friend.

Winnie
Rare and wonderful, Winnie’s calico pattern is one of a kind. Her affectionate nature and kitten curiosity make her even more extraordinary! She purrs and cuddles when held close, and can’t help but rub and love on people. Winnie is also very friendly with other pets and would do great in a home with children. At 7 months old, Winnie still has some growing to do but she is already a good mix of playful and laid-back. Her short brightly-colored coat is a mishmash of orange tabby stripes and jet black patches, with a perfect little black mask over her eyes. Winnie has been fostered as an inside kitty cat so she has impeccable house and litterbox manners. Winnie is just the sweetest thing and only hopes for family of her own to cuddle up with while they wait for spring to arrive. Come meet Winnie at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter and meet this little star shine.

Pets of the Week December 29, 2014

Leroy
Leroy has all the appeal of an old timer’s storytelling, but he’s ready to start his own brand new adventure. The Plott Hound has a fine reputation as a beloved hunting companion and family member, and Leroy is an excellent example of his breed. So loved in North Carolina, Plott Hounds are the state’s official dog. Leroy has the stamina to make a wonderful workout buddy and will need ample time exercising outdoors; his athletic nature and loud bay make him better suited for a home with access to a yard. Leroy’s treeing instinct doesn’t please many felines so a home without a kitty cat will be where he’s hoping to head soon. He’s only three years old but Leroy is gentle and well-mannered with people of all ages, and his handsome red brindle coat is easy to keep clean. He’s always happy wagging his tail while on the lookout for that special family waiting to start a new adventure of their own. He’s got boundless love and fun to give, and he’s ready to make your family complete!

Steve
Ever charming, Steve is a cat who’s as handsome as he is clever. Steve prefers to stay ahead of the game, so he keeps his huge amber eyes wide open for good things to come his way. He’s a substantial Classic Tabby with a thick, velvety coat. His fur gleams in rich warm tones, and his big soft paws love to reach out and “ask” you for a pat on the shoulder. Steve is the kind of feline that finds himself at home in most situations, so he’d be very happy living inside and out. Friendly as can be, Steve does well with other kitties. He prefers companionship so much that he has many times been found curled up in his neighbor’s kennel. 4 years old, calm and courteous, this furry friend is ready to head home today! He’s been talking up a storm about the life he hopes to lead with his forever family, and he’s keeping an eye out for that special loving person to walk through the door. A warm lap to curl up in is all this laid back kitty is dreaming of for the holidays.

Pets of the Week December 22, 2014

Roxie
A friendlier fashionista cannot be found. The buck stops with Roxie, a beautiful Dachshund mix, who’s looking to steal your heart. Roxie sports a smooth brindle coat and a set of matching white socks. She has as much charm as she has style, and Roxie is ready to lavish it all on her new family. She’s a smaller gal, weighing only 25lb, and at a year old she’s fully grown so she is going to fit right in to living spaces large and small. Roxie would prefer to keep her company with older children and up, and she gets along well with cats and like-minded dogs. Give this little lady a warm lap to cuddle in and you’ll learn she won’t even mind the silly holiday sweater. She knows that love is the only accessory that counts and can’t wait to show how good unconditional love looks this season.

Bowtie
Bowtie has an air of mystery about him that sets him apart. Even in a sea of tuxedos, his luxurious, long, black and white coat is a stand out. Bowtie has perfected his manners over the past 5 years and he’s a cat who knows how to think on his feet. Clever and curious, he would love to live an indoor/outdoor life with room to breathe and explore his domain. Bowtie has little time for other pets and would much rather spend his days lavishing his human companions with affection. His purr is warm and rumbling and Bowtie is a “talker” too, always ready to mew and coo at visitors. Suave as can be, this feline may be Mr. Independent but he is the ultimate example of a loving friend. Bowtie is all set to head home for his next adventure with his new family and delight them with his majestic manners and enchanting ways.
