Pets of the Week October 6, 2014

Weebo
Weebo is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix on a mission. This 9-month-old lad is aiming to please and his sights are set on a family to impress. He has the fun loving spirit of the little brother you always wanted, with the good looks of the boy next door. His crisp, short coat is a classic mix of black and white, so it will blend perfectly with your family’s favorite sports team’s colors. He adores children of all ages and his outstanding leash manners mean he can tag along on all the extracurricular activities. Weebo has a true desire to learn and he wags his tail the whole time that he “sits” and “lies down” on command. He has so much love to give, that Weebo thinks he’s just enough and would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Who needs other furry friends when your newest family member has a heart of gold?

Ini Mini
Somewhere between “itsy bitsy” and “teeny weeny,” exists a special ebony kitten named “Ini Mini.” At 4-months-old, Ini Mini may be a petite kitten now, but her larger-than-life joyful personality can fill a room. Ini Mini is everyone’s new best friend, playing politely with kittens, cats, dogs, children, and even a few lucky grown-ups too. This adaptable feline will fit right into just about any home, from active families to quiet singles looking to spice things up. Her bright yellow eyes twinkle against a deep black background of short, soft fur. This sweet little lady is sure to grow right into your heart and fill in all the spaces with fun and happiness. She is currently at Petsmart where you can pay her a visit.

Pets of the Week September 29, 2014

Milo
Milo is a pup with boyish charm aplenty! He’s a 9 month old bundle of joy with pep in his step and plenty of good cheer to pass around. He sports a short white coat that has been splotched and speckled with tan markings. When asked, his caregivers’ first response was “You just can’t be around Milo without smiling!” Milo loves to make new pet friends, and would thrive in a home with other dogs to pal around with. His passion for play doesn’t stop with four-legged companions because children of all ages are his absolute favorite! You should see the sparkle in his honey hued eyes when he spies a potential new playmate. Milo is pure puppy, and looking for a fun loving home to grow up in. He’s ready and waiting to prove to his forever family that raising a new family member is rewarded with a lifetime of love.

Sunshine
The weather man was been stumped all summer with the disappearing clouds and nonstop sunshine. The answer to this puzzle is purring her heart out at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter. One look at Sunshine’s radiant white and orange coat is all that it takes to be pulled in by this petite kitten’s gravity. You won’t be the only one star struck by this fluffy soft sunbeam’s golden eyes. Sunshine spreads her warmth and love to other cats, kittens, and furry friends of all types, but this 3 month old lady outshines them all when it comes to people pleasing. After being lovingly fostered as tiny kitten, Sunshine has learned to be an excellent housemate, keeping clean and tidy spaces and filling every inch with rays of happiness. Sunshine is ready for her new loving family to come add year round sunny days to their home.

Pets of the Week September 22, 2014

Laurel
She’s a 6-month Shepherd mix learning machine, with a heart as massive as her mind — a handful of treats and your focused attention are all it takes to activate her vast training potential. Laurel already sits on command and kennels herself cooperatively; even with the limited time spent with her. She’d adore a big yard for romping, filled will energetic kids, dog friends and a baby pool, but she’s so smart and eager to please she’s destined to be an inside pet. (She’s 42 lbs. of alert affection, with more to come, but she’ll never outgrow her genial temperament.) Come meet possibilities personified, Laurel wants to teach you what “beloved family dog” means.

Jazzy
If the nip in the morning air makes you long for fall color, look no further — our quintessential calico “Jazzy” boasts every striking hue, from glowing orange to glossy ebony, with alabaster interspersed. All downright downy-soft, with a humming 5-month girl-purr to underscore her loveliness. Jazzy knows that friendship’s a perennial pursuit; she luxuriates in your touch, loves to play and gives her own snuggly support to her roommate. (Your kids could stroke her all day long and she’d come back for more.) Come meet darling Jazzy, and make her the feline for every season of your heart.

Pets of the Week September 15, 2014

Tessa
She’s proof that sweet girls can be tons of fun; lovely 6-month-old Shepherd mix “Tessa” is packed with boisterous affection — pick her up and she’ll lean back to kiss you, put her down and she’ll sit and shake for a treat. (Give her a baby pool and she’ll take a flying leap into it. Yes, the lake would be heaven). Tessa was found stray; she’s smart, attentive, social, and radiantly healthy — a cooperative shelter citizen who enjoys other dogs and thrives on attention from humans of all sizes (an active family with school-age kids and a spacious yard would be perfect for her). Tessa would love some training, her potential’s as impressive as her attitude. Come see how becoming boundless energy can be; Tessa wants to hug you today.

Purrsia
Her ethereal beauty makes her look like a page from a cat calendar, but our lavishly long-haired 3-year-old “Purrsia” is real, and so is her abiding affection. She’ll pet your ankles with her pristine gray and white coat forever, a more elegant show of warmth you won’t find. Purrsia was found stray with 2 angora-soft sons; she keeps a tidy box, is an immaculate groomer, and would make an exquisite indoor pet — calm and gentle enough for your young ones. (She gets along fine with other felines but says “no thanks” to dogs.) Come see a cat-vision come to life, and take her home to comfort you and yours.

Pets of the Week September 8, 2014

Jamie
Brimming with boundless possibilities and positively pouring on the canine charm, Jamie bounces about without a care in the world. As the reigning representative for Miss Popularity, Jamie has too many play dates to fit in her schedule. Playing poolside (kiddie pools in her case) this 7 month old pup steals the show, the toys, and all the kisses she can get! With a sleek coat that ripples with deep caramel colors, and the dark soulful eyes that can rarely be resisted, Jamie is growing into a medium sized beauty; but who wants to grow up without a family to call their own? This lovely lady is a family dog in the making, putting her American pit bull terrier heritage to use as a playmate extraordinaire, and focusing that same unrivaled willingness to learn all the house manners needed to thrive in her new home. Jamie isn’t the stingy type. She is ready to share her fantastic future with a loving lifelong family.

Bee Bee
Excellence is the name of the game, and Bee Bee is an A+ student all around. Top of her class in home economics, her pen could make the front page of Southern Home, and her litterbox habits reflect her neat and tidy nature. Voted Class Representative by her feline pen mates, Bee Bee is the first to prance up to greet visitors and politely reach her paw out to tap your shoulder and encourage everyone to make new friends. It only takes a few pets for her to show you why she is the leader of the Glee Club, with a purr that just can’t be contained in her small frame. Bee Bee styles her school clothes with a classic flair wearing a short white coat, black accents, and bright yellow jewels for eyes. Now this over achiever has her eyes on graduation! She is wishing and hoping for a family to show off all her spotless report cards to. A new home is the purrfect place to use all the skills she has worked so hard on, and Bee Bee has no plans to stop at that. She will fill it with love and excel at her new position as family pet.
