Pets of the Week August 10, 2015

merlin
Merlin is a 1 year old American Pitbull Terrier mix, but don’t let his breed and solid build fool you. This guy is a total push-over. Like a marshmallow, Merlin is soft, squishy, and sweet. His short white coat and pink nose make him a standout in any crowd; however, these physical traits require him to be mostly an inside dog. No one wants a burnt marshmallow. Merlin happily greets all people, but when it comes to other dogs, he’s a ladies’ man through and through. Merlin loves to play and is best paired with a medium/large female doggie friend. As far as cats go, he doesn’t understand the purpose of the feline species, so cats are a no-no. Come meet this powder puff pooch and let him sweeten up your life.

Rose
Rose is a Domestic Long Haired kitty who has overcome the odds. She came to the shelter as tiny kitten only weeks old. Rose battled illness, and with the will power and stubbornness of an ox, this little baby is well and has grown into a beautiful, 5 month old, young cat. Being a Dilute Calico, Rose has a pattern that is as unique as she is. Despite the hectic lifestyle all around her, she has kept a very calm demeanor and her spirits high. This sweet girl has been cooped up too long and dreams of a home where she can stretch her legs and fill your heart.

Pets of the Week August 3, 2015

Azula
Azula is a Weimaraner mix who catches the attention people and dog alike. She has a bronze coat kissed by the sun and “legs for days,” but it’s her golden heart that makes her special and it shines through her eyes. At only 6 months old, Azula still has a lot of puppy in her so she loves to bounce around and have fun. Patience is a virtue while she learns the ropes of being a good dog; but this silly pup is eager to please and should earn a gold star in no time! Azula is a social butterfly who hasn’t met a person she doesn’t like. She especially enjoys playtime and the companionship of her 4 legged friends, so she would do best in a home with other furry family members.

yoshi
Yoshi is an adorable 2 year old domestic short hair kitty with a white coat and brown tabby spots. She has a heartwarming face with large lemon eyes and a dainty pink nose. Her silky fur and slender body give her an elegant appearance and she carries herself with just as much grace. Yoshi’s sleeping posture looks a bit like she could be playing opossum. She sprawls out on her back with her feet curled up and snores very sweetly dreaming of having a home and family of her very own. No matter how at rest she may look, feel free to wake her with a kindly scratch behind the ear because as much as she loves naps, she adores attention even more.

Pets of the Week July 29, 2015

Lucy
Lucy is a 2 year old American classic sweetheart who dreams of hearing the words, “Lucy! You’re home!” She looks like a Boxer, but sings like a Hound. Whatever the case, this good girl knows to use her inside voice and save her balladeering for the out of doors. She loves to play fetch with tennis balls, but her version of the game is to run after the ball and then keep it, leaving you standing in the sun watching her have a good time. She’s a large-sized gal who’s most unique physical attribute is the small cluster of spots on her back that form a paw print. When she buries her head into your chest and tries to fit into your lap, you’ll wonder if trying to convince her of her size is worth the effort. Lucy can make the worst day better, and when she smiles at you, you’ll find yourself smiling right back.

Pepper
Pepper is a 4 month old kitten with a spicy name and a fiery personality to match. This playful little guy will use whatever object he finds as a prop for his amusement. He loves to play with the broom as you try to sweep, or pick a fight with his blanket, which is fruitless for him but fun to watch. To quiet him down, simply pick him up and cradle him like a baby. He will realize it’s time to cuddle, look up at you with his hypnotic green eyes full and invite you to snuggle into his fluffy, baby soft, orange tabby fur. Although consider yourself warned, once you pick him up, you’ll never want to let him go.

Pets of the Week July 20, 2015

Frisco
Surf’s up dude! Frisco is 2 years young and seems to be confused about whether he’s a dog or a fish. He spends more time in the kiddie pool than he does on dry land dreaming of catching waves. Being a Jack Russell Terrier mix, he’s full of energy and knows how to turn any situation into a game. His playful personality is sure to bring a smile to your face as he teaches you how “not to take life so seriously.” His slender build and small stature makes him the perfect companion for any water lover. So whether you’re looking for someone to ride the waves with at the beach or cruising on a boat at the lake, Frisco would be the perfect match and is sure to make a real SPLASH in your life.

Charlie
This 3-month-old inky black kitten is named Charlie. But don’t let his common name fool you to think he’s a common cat. With his natural “white tie” and “cumberbund” markings, Charlie looks dressed and ready for a fancy affair. However, this renaissance kitty has the savoire faire to enjoy and impress in any gathering. He loves to bat at people passing by the gate of his kennel or play ball on the floor with his countless number of toys. Whatever, and whoever, he can get his paws on he’ll turn into a game of fun. Adopt Charlie today to add a burst of high octane Jerry Lewis fun to your home.

Pets of the Week July 13, 2015

Darla
Darla is a darling of a dog who loves all people. And her appreciation and desire for companionship is solely for people, not other dogs. At three-years-young, this hazel brown Retriever mix loves giving attention as much as receiving it and would be the perfect doggie BFF. She readily admits to being a toy hoarder and can spend hours alone playing with her amassed playthings. Full of joyful energy and spunk, Darla is entertaining and will bring a lot of fun into someone’s life. Visit and spend time with this one-sided lop-eared love and let her show you how to really have fun.

Regina
Regina is a gorgeous medium-haired Diluted Calico. Her wispy soft, tri-colored coat feels like she was rubbed down with a dryer sheet. She’s two-years-old and a wee bit shy; but don’t mistake her introverted persona as lacking in love. Quite the opposite, she thoroughly enjoys ear scratches and any other kind gestures of affection. She just prefers to choose when she wants held or to sit in a cozy lap. A quiet, low-key home is where she would be happy and thrive most. Give her space and she’ll reward you with her trust and love. This former stray is ready for a stable, long-term, and loving home. Visit Petsmart in Greenwood to get a peek at this rare feline jewel.
