Pets of the Week June 9, 2014

Charlene
You could call her an unpolished gem, but beautiful Black Lab/American Pit Bull mix Charlene’s so glossy she gleams; at one year and 41 pounds she’s done growing for sure, but her potential to become your well-trained family dog is as boundless as her energy. Charlene’s smile never stops; she’s great with other dogs, terrific on a leash, smart, attentive, athletic and yearning to be your sidekick. Charlene needs an active family or single with a big yard to run in, and plenty of loving attention which she’ll return a thousand fold. See what a 41lb jewel looks like, and take her home to treasure forever.

Pita
Six-year-old Snowshoe mix “Pita” comes delightfully endowed with traits his ancestors are prized for — pale blue eyes, a lavishly affectionate disposition and an intelligent, people-loving personality. But some things he’s missing — he’s been declawed, and his teeth are missing, too. (That’s right, no teeth. We think he was born that way, please just moisten his food or serve yummy canned fare, he has no trouble eating.) No matter, when he stands on his back feet to rub his lovely markings on you, gentle Pita will capture your heart completely. Pita must live inside; he’d enjoy a relaxed home without too many pets, where he could devote himself to you (and your kids) utterly. See how incomplete your life has been without him, Pita’s already neutered and ready to join you today.

The Greenwood Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the compassionate care and protection of animals.

Their purpose is to give sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, provide education to the public on responsible and humane pet ownership, encourage the public to spay and neuter their pets by providing low cost surgery, and encourage adoptions of those animals placed in their care.

Their adoption center is open Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm est.
