Game Night

Game Night was a fun watch. IT was a good watch once comedy. Not sure how it will hold up on any rewatches.

Max and Annie are obsessed with games. We get an intro montage of them playing party games even up to their wedding reception. They host a weekly Game Night with their friends. This week, Max’s brother, Brooks, is in town.

He hosts a special Game Night. One where an interactive company (think The Game) will stage a mystery game with actors. Brooks gets kidnapped (spoiler not by the actors) and the game is afoot.

The players find out that the game is real a little too early for me. But later twists eases my mind on that.

Red Sparrow

Red Sparrow is a slow burn spy thriller. I see this movie as an intrigue Unbreakable. We have the introduction to a protagonist I hope we get to see in future sequels.

This movie is not for children. There is graphic violence. There is sexual assault.

Do not be like the mother who brought her small child to the movie.

I would recommend seeing this movie in the theater. It is a slow burn – not an action fest.

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Jeremy Irons, Mary-Louise Parker, Ciarán Hinds, Joely Richardson, Bill Camp, Thekla Reuten, Douglas Hodge, Sakina Jaffrey

Pets of the Week March 5, 2018

Cocoa is one of those dogs who makes you smile the moment you see her. This milk chocolate-colored Retriever mix greets everyone with a big smile, an energetic wag of the tail, and if she can, a full-body snuggle. She isn’t quite 2 years old yet, but she’s a pretty big girl. You could even say she’s a bit tubby, but that’s just because she has a weakness for treats and will do anything for a tasty biscuit or two. Her sunny disposition shines through no matter what, including during the heartworm treatment she recently underwent. She’s quite adventurous and loves to chew up her toys, but when she’s done, she’ll head straight to her bed to relax. Cocoa will likely get along with other dogs and possibly even cats, so she’s an overall wonderful pooch.

Callie is elegant and supremely self-confident. So much so, in fact, that you could almost imagine her strolling down Hollywood Boulevard, showing off her fancy belled collar and looking like a true star. This gorgeous Calico is fully aware of how appealing she is, from her loving, affectionate personality to her snowy white coat accented with rich black and deep orange. She loves spending time with her humans, making her presence known by talking, rubbing against your legs, and telling you in no uncertain terms that she wants your attention. Callie is just over 18 months old and still quite playful. She takes particular joy in any toys that jingle. Come see this feline starlet today.
