Pets of the Week July 8, 2019

RemingtonRemington may not be that big in stature, but he makes up for it in personality. A wide grin, a constantly wagging tail, boundless energy, and a heart of gold are his primary traits. He’s an adorable one-year-old brown and tan shepherd mix with lovely golden-brown eyes that will probably be the first thing you notice. Remington adores people and longs for nothing more than to spend as much time as possible with his two-legged companions. But you better be ready for a good long snuggle once he’s worn himself out playing. Come meet this sweet boy today.

JaniceJanice needs someone in her life who will tell her every day what a beautiful lady she is. She’s about 5 years old and a bit shy when she meets new people, but once she realizes she’s going to be getting attention, she eats it up. This brown and white tabby is truly one wonderful feline. Give her a nice window seat, a comfy bed, or even better, a lap in which to recline, and she’ll prove she’s just as gorgeous on the inside as she is on the outside.

Spider-Man Far From Home

Spider-Man: Far from Home is a fun road trip movie with raised stakes. Homecoming is still my preferred Spider-Man film (I mean, they got the Vulture right), but this is also pretty good.

Nick Fury does not seem to be his usual, in charge self. But all gets revealed. Partially due to being 5 years behind in intel. Partly.

The school trip aspect gets Peter to places attacked around the world while still keeping his classmates around. Who all just happened to be snapped away by Thanos, so they are still the same age.

For the plot, Elemental monsters appear and attack various spots around the globe. The Avengers do not appear to be around. Iron Man and Black Widow are dead. Thor is offworld. Cap is retired. Nick Fury turns to Spider-Man to help. We get introduced to a new hero, Mysterio. He claims the Elementals are monsters from his reality that destroyed his Earth and will do the same to the 616 Earth.

Spidey and Mysterio team up to fight the Elementals and save the Earth. Hopefully in time for Peter to confess his feelings to MJ.

Spoilers ahead.

JerryJerry is a free-spirited fellow with a big heart, a sweet face, and a desire to please. He’s a handsome 7-year-old Retriever mix with a tan coat accented with white on his chest and neck and up across his muzzle and between his chocolate brown eyes. As is to be expected of his breed, Jerry has plenty of energy, so he’d love a big yard in which to run or the chance to take nice, long walks. He isn’t particularly interested in toys, however, preferring to play with other dogs or people instead. And he never says no to a tasty treat.

DaniAre you looking for a feline companion who’s well past that exuberant kitten stage of life? If so, Dani might be just who you need. This sweet lady is about 8 years old, so she’s quite settled in her ways, content to curl up in a favorite spot and enjoy a long, well-deserved nap. She likes attention, but she doesn’t beg for it and seems happy just to be in her own space. Dani has a medium-length white coat with little touches of grey here and there and big, golden-yellow eyes. All she wants in the world is a safe, comfortable home where she can be herself.

PennyMeet Penny: pretty, petite, playful Penny, a pup with a heart of gold, a desire to please, and a happy-go-lucky personality that’s impossible to resist. This lovely young lady is a one-year-old, light copper-and-white-colored hound mix. She’s spent the last few weeks in a foster home, hanging out with her foster sister, playing tug-of-war and wrestling in the back yard. She always has a smile on her cute face and wiggles with excitement when new people come around. Penny is simply wonderful, and she deserves the forever home she’s been hoping for.

ArtieArtie, Artie, Artie. What can be said about Artie? Well, this big, handsome boy is a true cat lover’s cat. He’s 7 years old with a silky black and white coat that includes a splash of purest white across his chin and nose and up between his gorgeous yellow eyes. He tends to act a bit like a kitten when presented with toys, and he has that perfectly (and uniquely) cat-like ability to be content with just about any situation. Give him some love and scratches? Fine. Go do your own thing? That’s fine, too. Basically, Artie is one cool cat.

Pets of the Week June 17, 2019

LaylaLayla’s smile is as wide as a country mile, and that reflects the size of her personality as well. She is a ball of delightful energy, and she’ll swoop in for all the attention she can get. She’s a two-year-old gray and white terrier mix with a very expressive face and ears that stand tall and proud whenever she’s happy or excited, which is basically ALL the time. Layla likes her two-legged companions better than the four-legged kind, however, as she seems to think she deserves all the loves. She just wants to be queen of the castle. And why shouldn’t she be?

LuluAre you seeking a feline friend who simply wants to be a cat, with no pretenses or airs and graces? Introducing Lulu. This 2-year-old black and butterscotch patched tabby is about as uncomplicated as they come. If you want to pick her up and bestow your love upon her, she accepts it easily and with contentment. But if you’re busy doing your own things, she’s just as happy to curl up in a favorite spot for a long nap or find some quiet way to entertain herself. Lulu is a truly beautiful lady with the most straightforward of needs: feed me, love me, let me be me.
