Ready Player One

I think most of these stars come from nostalgia alone.

This basically follows the plot of the “Save the Rec Center” style 80s movies. With Big Business tm as the big bad.

I had a lot of fun watching this. The crowd in my theater laughed a good bit. Especially when Chucky shows up.

I have not read the novel, but may need to now.

Starring: Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Lena Waithe, T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg, Mark Rylance, Philip Zhao, Win Morisaki

Pets of the Week April 2, 2018

If Oliver could talk, he’d probably constantly be saying “Please, Sir, I want some more,” because this dog is a young, active boy who always wants more of everything, whether it’s attention, toys, playtime, or food. At just 9 months old, he’s a bundle of goofy energy, so a big fenced-in yard or daily long walks would be ideal. He’s a handsome black-and-white Retriever and Border Collie mix with an expressive face and loads of puppyish charm. Oliver never meets a stranger and seems quite eager to make doggie friends. This playful charmer might just be what you’ve been looking for, so meet him today.

Ask anyone who’s met Monty, and they’ll tell you he’s a lover, not a fighter. Everything about this dapper kitty is charming, from his handsome orange and white coat and his big golden-yellow eyes to his sweet, affectionate personality. He’s fully grown, a little over two years old, and a rather big fellow. But that doesn’t stop him from wanting to be a lap cat. Monty is always eager to show just how much he loves attention, immediately purring when he’s picked up. This is one happy boy who is sure to bring joy to any household. He seems to like other cats and kids, and he even appears to be content to share his space with dogs. Monty is a pure gem, so visit him at PetSmart in Greenwood today.

Pacific Rim: Uprising

Pacific Rim: Uprising takes us to a world still recovering from the Kaiju attacks that ended 10 years ago.

We see the current state of the Jaeger program and how it is set to progress. We learn that even with the breach closed, the invaders are not done with us yet.

The trailer gives a lot of the action beats away. You see Jaeger fighting Jaeger. You see Kaijus voltroning themselves together.

Pacific Rim: Uprising is enjoyable enough. But it is missing that touch from the first one. Maybe its the lack of Ron Perlman…

Starring: John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Burn Gorman, Charlie Day, Tian Jing, Rinko Kikuchi

Pets of the Week March 26, 2018

Chester is a fun, playful name that makes you smile when you hear it, so it’s perfect for this lovable pooch. A 1-year-old Hellenic or Greek Hound mix, Chester is a very attractive dog, with a handsome black and tan coat accented with a splash of white on his chest and all four paws. He’s a recent graduate of the Pawsitive Prison Program, in which he learned 20 different commands, including Sit, Stay, Heel, Wait, Get Dressed, and many more. Chester is very intelligent, loyal, eager to learn, and highly energetic. He gets along well with other dogs and children, and if he could talk, he’d tell you his favorite thing in the whole world is any type of ball. Call the adoption center today to schedule a meeting with Chester.

Like the Greek goddess of spring, this Persephone is quite the beauty. Her fluffy orange and white coat and big golden eyes are truly captivating, and her temperament is just as sweet as her face. She’s a rather quiet kitty who’s looking for a calm home where she can simply lie around looking beautiful. She’s only about 8 months old, but she’s already given up her childish ways and decided she’s all lady, preferring cuddles and gentle attention to energetic play. She doesn’t mind the company of other cats and would probably even accept a doggie sibling, as long as it could match her serene demeanor. Swing by PetSmart today and introduce yourself to Persephone.

Pets of the Week March 19, 2018

This handsome dog is hoping to find a forever home with people who like to hike, jog, or enjoy other outdoor activities that will allow him to burn off his Border Collie energy. Mikey is an 18-month-old black and white Hound and Border Collie mix with big expressive brown eyes. He loves meeting new people and he’d be delighted to have doggie siblings who would play along in his highly-spirited play. He’s a medium-sized dog with a big personality, and he needs a fenced-in backyard so he can freely run and play. See Mikey today and expect to fall in love.

Onyx is just as black and beautiful as his name suggests. At just 7-months-old, he has plenty of energy, and his playful personality is sure to keep you laughing. He may be a cat, but he seems to fancy himself a comedian, constantly talking, batting around his toys, and doing all he can to capture your attention. He’s happy to be picked up for a cuddle, but when he’s had enough, he’ll take off again in search of some new exciting activity. Onyx is a sweet boy who loves his humans, but he’s also an independent spirit, so don’t be surprised if he regularly rearranges his living area to suit his needs.
