Pets of the Week March 9, 2015

Sven
An ancient Nordic name could imply that he’s a “Viking” of a dog, but the name “Sven” actually means “boy” and that fits this pup perfectly. Sven has rare and rugged good looks with a weather proof onyx colored coat. His mixed heritage of Siberian Husky and German Shepherd dog means that “athletic,” “intelligent,” “loyal,” and “playful” are words that just skim the surface of wonderful traits that describe Sven. He is only a bit over 2 years old and still has plenty of youthful spirit. His boyish charm extends into a friendly personality and Sven has always played well with children and other pets of all age and size. He has happily greeted strangers at events and would be a great companion for those looking to explore the wide world with a faithful friend at their side. Sven would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, and will require plenty of exercise and interaction to keep his mind sharp and engaged. He has all the makings of that special, unforgettable pet that can start you on the adventure of a lifetime.

Ashton
Ashton’s eyes mesmerize with a luminous green glow while his soft-focus coat melts into muted tones of dove grey. As if he padded right out of an impressionist masterpiece, Ashton is a one of a kind feline with a soul just as beautiful as his outward appearance. He loves seeing new faces and has lavished love on even the youngest of volunteers who have visited him. He is medium-sized with silky fur that whorls in waves. Ashton is 3 years old and aged to perfection, with excellent litter box habits and indoor manners. Although quite content to perch on a chair with you all day, he does look longingly out windows and would live happily in a home with access to explore an outdoor space like a breezy balcony or garden. This kind and cuddly cat is in need of a family with whom he can share his love. Ashton is a work of art and he is ready to become a priceless member of his forever home. Come meet Ashton today and fall in love with this stunning feline.

Pets of the Week March 2, 2015

Heidi
Heidi is a pretty little pup with a great big heart. Her striking pattern may be what catches your eye, but it’s her sweet-as-pie nature that will make you fall in love. Heidi is a lovely mix of Beagle and American Staffordshire Terrier making her as friendly as can be. She is around 2 years old and weighing less than 30 pounds, her size makes her well-suited for many types of homes. Heidi has spent a good amount of time inside and, and since she kennels and crates so well, is a great option for an indoor companion. She is wonderful with children of all ages and lives happily with cats and well-mannered dogs. This lovely lady is ready for a fresh start with a family that can provide the same unconditional love she is constantly pouring out. Heidi is all set to head home today with a very lucky family, so come see her and don’t miss your chance with this special girl.

Dolly
Quiet as a mouse, Dolly has mastered the art of “house cat.” She may not have the loudest meow or jump and play the day away, but Dolly loves to snuggle and cuddle. Who could ask for more love than that? She is 7 years old and has plenty of practice with keeping the litter box tidy. Dolly is hoping for a calm home that matches her kind and quiet spirit. She does very well with other cats but is afraid of dogs so she would be best suited in a doggy-free home. Dolly has a short, thick, brown tabby coat with deep gold highlights that give her a very regal look. She is waiting for the right person to welcome her into her forever home, and is ready to start her new life today. For now, Dolly is curled up in her favorite cat bed, dreaming of a warm happy home to fill with love. Visit her to see if your family could make her dreams come true.

Pets of the Week February 23, 2015

Ava
Ava is a classic beauty with grace that just doesn’t go out of style. She’s a tri-colored shepherd mix with a stunning tan and slate grey coat. She’s a wonderful playmate with other pets (kitty cats included) and will melt right into families with members of all ages. At 2 years old, she’s fully grown and her versatile size and personality will let her fit into large farms as well as roomy apartments, as long as she gets plenty of attention and exercise. These days Ava has been helping shy dogs at the shelter come out of their shells, but now it’s time for this young lady to find a forever family all her own. She is smart, silly, and a real treat to take for walks. Come visit her today and see what a starlet like Ava can add to your family today!

Amber
If the eyes are windows into the soul, then there can be no denying that Amber’s is kind, longing for a place to call home. Amber is a Brown Tabby with a touchably soft, short coat, and her face is as expressive as can be, with soft yellow eyes and long whiskers. She is a calm 7 year old kitty who is very good with other cats and well-mannered dogs so there are no worries that her age has her set in her ways. She greets visitors with a soft mew and an out-stretched paw ever hopeful that the next person she meets will take her home to join their family. Amber is very well-mannered and calm enough for a small home with people of any age and would be a great fit as an indoor pet. Amber is a warm and gentle soul hoping to meet her match and join her forever family soon.

Pets of the Week February 16, 2015

Buddy Bear
February can bring on a big case of the “Winter Blues,” but fret not because Buddy Bear has enough warmth to keep the chill at bay. Buddy Bear has had his share of sad days; he has a sensitive spirit and the stress of life at an animal shelter can be hard, but this 1 year old pup refuses to give up. He’s growing happier and healthier every day, and this handsome retriever mix is ready to pay it forward to the family of his dreams. Buddy Bear is a big boy, who will need some extra living space to thrive. His short tan and sable coat seems to highlight the sunny disposition he has inside. Buddy Bear’s in need of a home with older children and experience raising canine family members so that he can flourish and continue to grow. He’s ready to get a fresh start this spring, and he’ll do his best to thank you with love that lasts a lifetime!

Daphne
Daphne is dewy fresh, and downy soft. This feminine feline has charm for days, and she’s easy on the eyes as well. Daphne is cloaked in a shiny, short, black and white coat which she’ll gladly let you cuddle when you come to visit her. This 1 year old is a joy to be around and spreads that same warm and fuzzy feeling to other pets as well. Daphne is a great fit for families with children since she’s playful enough to romp around the house, but wise enough not to get too rough. She’s always up for a chat, and loves to meow at visitors while she shows off how clean she keeps her kennel and litter box. Even though Daphne is a complete package, she seems to know that an important piece is missing. Why have all this love to give, and no one to share it with? A forever home with a special family is all that’s left for Daphne to live the perfect life she was born to enjoy.

Pets of the Week February 9, 2015

Ginger
Ginger may be the cutest little firecracker you’re ever going to meet. She refuses to let the little “bumps” in life get in her way. She’s a Miniature Pinscher mix who has a bright and beaming attitude to match her shiny red coat. Ginger has picked up a few injuries over her 7 years of life, but nicked ears and leg limps give her extra character and for a dog her size, she has a long life to lead with a lucky family. Ginger loves to go on walks and visit new places, plus she does excellent on leash; she also does very well with other dogs, but she thinks cats are really fun to chase so she would do best in a home with no cats. Ginger has been a house pet before, and when she’s not prancing about trying to make you smile, her favorite place to be is in your lap. Let Ginger teach you to treat every challenge as a chance to shine, and come visit her today!

Aster
Fresh and airy, Aster flits about making new friends wherever she goes. She’s a clown wrapped in a soft tabby coat and she’s ready to take her show on the road. Aster is only 9 months old and still has a little growing up to do, but this petite girl is smart, sweet, and ready to become a part of a loving home. She is gentle enough for other pets and small children, but lively enough to add the perfect spark to any family. Aster has manners when it comes to keeping clean around the house, so she will fit nicely into a house or apartment. Her light-hearted nature and wildflower spirit are going to give a lucky family a brand new outlook. Aster is just what you need to chase the winter blues away!
