Pet of the Week – August 29, 2011

He’s wildly enthusiastic and sweetly cooperative; an exuberant American Bulldog mix kid who runs circles in the rain for the sheer joy of feeling the wetness, then trots quietly back to his kennel at your bidding. His name is Rodney, and at 2 years old he offers all that American Bulldogs are known for — he’s smart, fun and social, playful and tolerant with children, and ready to bond with you as your confident, lifelong companion.

Connect the dots on his legs, down low where the tiger stripes turn into spots like a miniature ocelot, and you’ll begin to feel the pleasure that is Raymond. He’s a grand example of how elegant a tabby can be, a sleek velvet young friend, always ready to snuggle but never in your face. Raymond was found in Ware Shoals, and never was there a more exquisitely soft stray — touch him and you’ll see.

The Greenwood Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the compassionate care and protection of animals.

Their purpose is to give sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, provide education to the public on responsible and humane pet ownership, encourage the public to spay and neuter their pets by providing low cost surgery, and encourage adoptions of those animals placed in their care.
