Pets of the Week April 20, 2020

PJPlayful, cuddly, and cute as a button – that’s PJ. This tan-and-white American Staffordshire Terrier-Beagle mix isn’t particularly large – he’s a bit of a low-rider, actually – but he has a big personality. He enjoys the company of other dogs, and he thinks toys and treats were invented just for him. And after he’s worn himself out, he’s more than happy to swoop in for a snuggle. PJ is just under two years old, so he has plenty of energy and is hoping for a new home with a fenced-in yard or the chance to take lots of long walks.

BuckleyWho can resist an orange tabby, especially a big boy who loves to give head butts and make muffins every time he’s touched? Buckley is your man. He’s a lover, not a fighter, and he’s sure to win you over within seconds due to his affectionate, attention-seeking personality. He’d be a great indoor-outdoor kitty, as he has spent most of his two years outside and enjoys relaxing in the sunshine. Handsome, friendly, and laid back. What more could you ask for in a feline friend?

BusterSpending more time at home and needing companionship? If so, bring joy to all your days by welcoming Buster into your life. This handsome love bug is looking for someone who will give him the attention he craves in the form of plenty of toys and yard time, but more importantly, plenty of lap time. Being just over a year old, Buster isn’t short on energy, so if you enjoy jogging or taking long walks, he’ll be more than happy to join you. He’s a dapper fellow as well, with his sleek brindle coat and dark brown eyes. PLUS, he likes other dogs, so really, Buster is the full package.

CuddlesHave you ever met one of those cats that simply prefers his own company rather than that of those pesky humans? Introducing Cuddles. Yes, the irony is apparent. To be fair, he likes people, but he likes them on HIS time and wants to interact according to HIS rules. Two-year-old Cuddles would be perfectly happy to be an indoor/outdoor kitty, so he can enjoy the warm sunshine and feel the wind in his hair. He’s a good-looking boy, with his orange and white coat and lovely golden eyes. This fabulous feline is waiting. Perhaps for you?

PumpkinYes, he’s a German Shepherd. Yes, he’s a boy. And yes, his name is Pumpkin. That’s because he’s as sweet as pie. This 3-year-old pup will steal your heart from the moment you lay eyes on his handsome face. He craves the company of other dogs, and he’s very comfortable around kids. Pumpkin is a staff favorite, due to his endless charm and happy-go-lucky spirit. He’s one of those dogs that is simply a joy to be around, and he’s hoping very much that he’ll get to spend the rest of his life around you.

LexiOh Lexi, you little diva. This fabulous feline knows exactly who she is, and she’s not afraid to let everyone know. When she wants cuddles, you WILL indeed give her the attention she desires. And when she wants alone time, you will respect that as well. She’s a spirited little firecracker and as pretty as a picture. Lexi is a two-year-old tabby with white down her chest and on her feet. And with the light rust-colored markings around her nose and muzzle, she looks like a little tiger.

DaveSingle, one-year-old male pittie mix with a sleek, brindle coat and dreamy brown eyes seeks forever family, preferably where all members enjoy lots of hugs and plenty of playtime in the back yard. Great with kids and enjoys the company of other dogs. Chew toys and tennis balls are a must. But the most important thing of all is love. And lots of it. If interested, please come to the Humane Society of Greenwood and ask to meet Dave.

MaggieThe magnificent Maggie is waiting patiently for that lucky someone who will call her their own. She’s a truly gorgeous feline – a black and white tuxedo with HUGE golden-yellow eyes and a sweet personality to match. She’s a bit bashful at first but loves attention, and a few scratches and head rubs will immediately result in a gentle purr. Maggie is about 8 months old, so she’s still quite youthful in her demeanor, enjoying any and all toys. She’s lived with other cats and a small dog, so she should be happy in just about any loving home.

Pets of the Week March 16, 2020

DasherDasher’s name is fitting for a couple of reasons. First, he’s quite, well, dashing. A handsome 2-year-old mixed breed with a sleek black coat, a happy, expressive face, and adorable ears. And secondly, he is FAST. This boy likes to run, whether it’s chasing a tennis ball around the play yard, keeping up with a canine companion, or simply racing in the wind for the pure pleasure of it. Dasher is loving and affectionate, and all he’s hoping for in life is a home where he can get lots of exercise, then curl up with his humans at night. Your home, perhaps?

VioletNamed for those beloved spring flowers, our Violet is just as gorgeous. She is a stunning lynx-point tabby with brilliantly blue eyes, a uniquely beautiful coat, and a delightful personality. She’s only a year old, so she has her playful side for sure, but she appears to be mostly interested in being petted and scratched and just generally adored. Once you meet her, you will love her. There simply is no other choice. Violet would like nothing more than to bring a bit of beauty into your home.
