Pets of the Week December 18, 2017

If you’re looking for a high-energy canine companion who will run around the yard chasing tennis balls and happily barking at the resident squirrels, Cooper is your dog. This large, 1-year-old Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix is a spirited fellow who’s eager to start learning any commands you wish to teach him, and just as lovable as he is exuberant, readily offering his undying affection. To round out his perfection, he’s truly handsome sporting a coppery-brown coat that gleams in the sunshine. He’s also shown a real desire to make friends with the pups he’s come into contact with, so he should be well-suited to a home with another dog and a large fenced-in yard.

With his sleek beauty and sophisticated air, Stephan looks like he belongs in a James Bond movie. This 2-year-old short-haired cat sports a shiny black coat with just a touch of white on his chest, bringing to mind a classy black tuxedo. His bright, direct gaze is a perfect indicator of his cool, serene demeanor. Stephan is a self-possessed and supremely confident cat. He wants the freedom to redecorate his space to his own liking and responds well to attention on his terms. And since he’s a rather large cat and isn’t particularly fond of being carried around, he would be happiest in a home without small children who might be tempted.

Pets of the Week December 11, 2017

With a smile as wide as a country mile, Lenny is as intelligent and well-behaved as he is sweet and affectionate. This 2-year-old Boxer/Retriever mix is a recent graduate of the Pawsitive Prison Program, where he learned over 20 commands, including Get Dressed, Go to Bed, Give Kisses, and much more. Although he loves to run and play, he’s also very laid back, indoors or out, always willing to settle down for a snuggle. Lenny learns quickly and understands boundaries quite well once established. He has a huge amount of love to give, to both people and other dogs, making him the ideal companion.

This gorgeous Calico kitty is an exotic beauty with a quiet demeanor and captivating gaze. Jing Jing is about 4 years old, so she’s past the high-energy kitten stage and prefers to spend her time snoozing in a favorite comfy spot. She enjoys being pampered and will offer you a flirtatious glance of her stunningly green eyes as reward and appreciation. Her coat, as beautiful as her personality, is a striking mixture of deep black, rich orange, and snowy white. Jing Jing is happy to share her space with just about anyone, including children and other cats. And her serene disposition is infectious, creating a sense of calm wherever she goes.

Pets of the Week December 4, 2017

The name Lena has Greek origins, meaning light, shining, or alluring. And like the Greek goddesses of old, this medium-sized Retriever and Terrier mix radiates beauty and charm. At just over a year old, she’s full of energy, but more than anything, she’s overflowing with love. Lena will captivate you from the moment you see her sweet, smiling face. Her snowy white coat, decorated with a splash of light brown across her right eye, will have everyone stopping to admire her, and her personality is as lovely as her appearance. She’d be delighted to find a forever home with kids, other dogs, or even cats.

This high-spirited little kitty is just as fun-loving as the theatrical character from “Chicago” with the same name. Roxie is only 5 months old, so she’s prepared to bring many years of laughter into your life. And she’s sure to do just that, whether she’s chasing her favorite toys around the living room or wrestling with a fellow feline. She’s even shown an interest in making doggy friends, so a wide variety of households would make her happy. Roxie is a beautiful brown, black, and white Tabby with an absolutely adorable face and enough charisma to turn even a life-long “dog person” into an immediate cat lover.

Pets of the Week November 27, 2017

Because she’s the same golden color and just as sweet, Nilla is named after the tasty cookie wafer. She never meets a stranger and always ready to pass out hugs. A bouncy, bubbly, jubilant pup, this 9-month-old is game for any sort of toy, jog around the park, or playing tag with her canine buddies. A tomboy, she’s not one for dressing up in pretty sweaters or fancy coats. She’d rather sign up for a game of softball or a track run. If you’re looking for an athletic gal who’s full of adorable spunk, then Nilla is a perfect choice.

Jupiter is a lighthearted fella who is easy to love and entertaining to watch. Full of spunk, this brown, black and white Tabby cat adds life to any party. Like a dancer sliding across a stage, this show-off kitten loves to show off his superb dance skills. He greets everyone with a happy “hello!” and will make sure you’re never bored. At 6-months-old, he’s ready to inject some fun and love into your life.

Justice League

While Justice League comes nowhere near Wonder Woman, it is loads better than Batman V Superman.

We learn that Parademons have been sighted across the world, abducting people associated with Star Labs. After an attack on the Amazons by Steppenwolf, Diana approaches Bruce and they begin getting the team together.

As with a typical intro team-up, it does not come together the first time. We get snippets of backstory for the new characters to the DCEU: Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Just enough to give us a hint of where their solo movies may go.

Part of the plot is bringing Superman back after the League fights Steppenwolf, but cannot stop him. Superman’s inclusion does bring everything together.

The plot is decent, but does feel rushed. You can tell DC/Warner Bros are playing catch-up to the Marvel movies. But it is still a fun movie.

The CGI was … not great. The very first scene of the movie opens with Superman and a CGIed out mustache. The main villain is all CGI as well. Poor CGI.

Starring: Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Henry Cavill, Jeremy Irons, Ciarán Hinds, JK Simmons, Connie Nielsen, Joe Morton, Amber Heard, Diane Lane, Amy Adams
