Pets of the Week April 18, 2016

Brewster
With energy to spare, one-year-old Brewster is all about fun, fun, fun, and not particularly well-suited for a couch potato lifestyle. This Chocolate Lab blend is loyal, loveable, happy and friendly to all he meets, including other friendly pooches. Brewster if full of energy and will run to the door to greet you (or anyone, for that matter) as if you’d just returned from a year-long trip. He is truly “man’s best friend,” and is at his happiest when engaged in family activities. He would enjoy running, hiking, swimming and playing fetch for hours on end. He is a breeze to train, and as long as you are prepared to live with puppy-like behavior for a while, he will bring absolute joy and adventure to your life.

Ollie
What’s “old” for a cat? 10 year old, long-haired, tuxedo kitty, Ollie, doesn’t think it matters. Framed by his friends for a crime he did not commit, Ollie was brought to the shelter without a fair trial. Being one who turns life’s lemons into lemonade, he is just peachy about going to a new home and enjoying a new family. Ollie lived outside most of his life, but now prefers being indoors, perched near a window, where he can watch outside activities from a safe distance. When he’s not watching his “shows,” you will find him cuddled in his bed dreaming about the days of his youth. By the way, Ollie has not teeth. As such, he must be fed a diet of canned food, which makes him purrfectly happy. This talkative kitty offers loving companionship and would appreciate a home to spend his retirement years.

Pets of the Week April 11, 2016

Hank
As a former lost dog living on his own, this one-year-old Beagle and Hound blend is smart, affectionate, curious, friendly and playful. Hank is an ideal family dog, loving to be in the middle of what’s going on, especially if it can allow him to sit in someone’s lap. He can be a little timid at first meeting, but in all of sixty seconds you’ll find he’s already claiming you as his new BFF. Hank has the perfect balance in personality. The Beagle in him makes him great for an active family who will share in his desire to play and explore. The Hound in him makes him ideal for those who like to stop and smell the roses. Hank is a renaissance dog designed to fit any mood.

Mia
This bright-eyed, adult kitty, aptly named “Mama Mia,” was “in a family way” when she was found by Animal Control. This black-and-white beauty is a nurturer by nature and was the model mother to her litter of four. Now spayed and living a single girl’s life, she is every bit the relaxed, happy, ?and outgoing cat that tuxedo kitties are reputed to be?. In fact, any tuxedo cat’s human will tell you they are extremely intelligent, affectionate and likely to rule the roost?. If you’re wanting pussy cat perfection, Mia is the one for you. ?

Pets of the Week April 4, 2016

Razzle
Fun-spirited Razzle is a one-year-old, female American Staffordshire and Chocolate Lab blend. She is loving, loyal, affectionate, dependable and a happy friend with loads of energy and intelligence. While she plays like a puppy, she can be a steady pal who doesn’t mind hanging out on the couch and relaxing. She is a great buddy to other dogs, enjoys a good round or two wrestling with them, and loves running through the yard chasing bees. An active human companion or family would be the perfect match for her enthusiastic personality.

Roxie
10-year-old Roxie is looking for a nice cozy home to spend her retirement years. Content to just relax in your company, she would prefer indoor living with access to all the comfy spots in the house. Like a nosy neighbor looking out a window, Roxie has to know what’s going on at all times and share play-by-play commentary. She’s quite the talkative Golden Girl kitty. Bringing Roxie into you your home and heart would be especially gracious because when you adopt a senior cat, you’re truly saving a life.

Pets of the Week March 28, 2016

Krissco
This 5-year-old handsome American Staffordshire Terrier is a dependable, good-natured, loyal companion. It would surprise some that this muscular dog with the impressive, confident presence is so easygoing. He has no need for other doggie companions because Krissco entertains himself every day running in the yard and playing with his toys. He has already learned how to sit and stay down, and is working on door manners. He must have moderate daily exercise to maintain his splendid muscle tone. Companionship is even more important, and extensive ongoing socialization is paramount. Krissco will respond well to a confident owner who will provide training and consistent rule-following. And if exuberant face-kissing is something you want, then Krissco can definitely fill the bill.

Sassy
Sassy is 9-year-old Maine Coon mix, good-natured and affable, adapting well to many lifestyles and personalities. She likes being with people and has the habit of following them around, but she isn’t needy. She’s happy to receive attention when you direct it her way, but if you’re busy she’s satisfied to just supervise your doings. Close a door on her and she will wait patiently for you to realize the error of your ways and let her in. She’s not typically a lap cat, but she does like to be near you. Maine Coons usually enjoy a kittenish love of play; Sassy is more dignified, but she isn’t above a good game of chase. This overly relaxed feline would make a wonderful addition to a home with adults who enjoy a quiet lifestyle and napping, her most favorite activity of all.

Pets of the Week March 14, 2016

Sebastian
Bronze-colored Sebastian is a one-year-old, male Golden Retriever blend. A playful fella, he’s loving, devoted, and energetic, known for his good-natured trainability. He is a great family member, a natural with kids and social with other pets. Sebastian needs a lot of exercise, which could be as simple as going on a couple of daily walks and tossing a stick in the yard. He is even tempered, needs a lot of room to move around, and, most of all, this social guy wants to shower his new family with adoration and companionship.

JarJar
?Precious Jarjar ended up at the shelter for no fault of his own. He’s already lived a very good life, and at ?13 years ?of age, he has found himself needing to find a new family?. ? This feline gentleman loves other cats and? especially likes his regular naps curled up in a cushy bed. One thing Jarjar has learned from life is not to take things so seriously. He’s as laid back as a cat can be and lives in the moment. There’s no guessing what his personality is like because he’s all grown up and what you see is what you get. Invite Jarjar into your home and into your heart. He’ll make sure to give the best return on your investment.
