Pets of the Week May 23, 2016

Tooga
Caramel toffee-colored Tooga is the perfect medium-sized dog to add to any active family. At around one-year-old, he loves to play and would enjoy being your hiking or travel buddy. Affectionate and amusing, this young boy pooch prefers larger dogs as his play friends and loves all people. His youthful energy and enthusiasm make him better for families with older children. He will endlessly romp in the yard and play fetch or soccer or whatever sport you enjoy. Tooga also gleefully climbs into people’s laps firmly believing that he’s the perfect fit. He delights and desires to be an indispensable member of your family and home.

Gizmo
5-year-old, black-and-white Tuxedo cat, Gizmo, comes from a large family of cats. At an early age he learned that respect for mama is most important, and since he still lives with mama, he always behaves like a perfect gentleman. He whiling away the hours at the shelter “watching TV,” which is essentially looking at the birds flutter and fly outside the window. Gizmo is a cuddler through and through, enjoying to curl up in a lap or on the couch next to you. There he could watch real TV and be grateful that he finally has a home of his own.

Pets of the Week May 16, 2016

Lucy
Lovely Lucy is a young, medium-sized mixed breed dog. And as the ultimate family dog, this mixed breed excels where the purebred lacks. Drawing from a broader, more diverse gene pool, her intensity is softer than her pedigreed cousins, her drives and compulsions mercifully muted. Lucy’s loyalty, warmth, and deep desire to please, however, remain as fiercely intact as any dog you could choose to create. Her short, tan-and-white coat is easy to care for and her big brown eyes will melt anyone’s tender heart. Come meet this perfect indoor/outdoor dog and let her show you how she can make your life better.

Charlie
If a talking cat is what you want, then please adopt Charlie. This young black-and-white cat meows, talks, and chats with every passerby. He does it with such passion that he clearly has discovered the secrets of the universe and is desperately trying to share them with anyone who will listen. Either that or he just wants a treat. Charlie is a people-cat and is particularly particular about having other animal company around. He feels that he has enough personality to fill an entire home and wonders why would anyone need another pet. Scratch behind his ears, rub his silky and soft belly, and enjoy those few moments of silence because once it stops, it chatty Charlie time once again.

Pets of the Week May 9, 2016

Koal
One-year-old, former lost dog, Koal, is brimming with boyish charm and enthusiasm. Shy at first, this raven black, Retriever beauty becomes overwhelmed by his own puppy glee, throwing timidity to the wind, and expressing his zest for life. In his excitement, Koal simultaneously runs and wiggles around the yard, like an out-of-water, flip-flopping fish. However, when he has his belly rubbed he stays as still and relaxed as a meditating zen master. Visit this super and sweet kid of a dog and he’ll teach you how to trade in sweating the small stuff for embracing the fun of life.

Bo
B?o knows. He knows that his laid-back personality and drop-dead good looks will assure him a home with an adoring family of fans. This 2-year-old attention hog knows that he offers the purrfect distraction from the silly worries of the world. What better way to forget your woes than to gaze into his hypnotic butterscotch-colored eyes? It has also been found that time spent brushing his long, silky hair is an extra source of relaxation — for both the brusher and the brushee. Spend time with this suave and sophisticated superstar of a cat and you’ll know that Bo’s the one.

Pets of the Week May 2, 2016

Precious
Less than 2-years old and precious Precious has already endured more than most dogs. Left without food for long periods of time, she was rescued by Animal Control officers and brought to the Animal Shelter, where she received the TLC that she needed. This Boxer blend is full of playful fun and eager to please. She is an intelligent dog, walks on a leash, and will learn most new skills very fast and with a lot of ease. Precious holds no grudges against anyone, but only knows how to offer unconditional love. She is ready and deserving of a family who will return that same love.

Kita
Kita is one of a family of five adult cats who are at the shelter for circumstances beyond their control. And dear Kita is the mother and matriarch of the group. At 6-years-old, this full-figured gal loves everyone, especially her home-schooled litter of grown-up felines. Never has an entire family of cats been so quick to adapt to a sudden change in lifestyle, and Kita deserves all the credit. Visit her and her brood and you’ll be drawn to listen to their friendly chorus of meow catspeak. You may even find your self meowing back.

Pets of the Week April 25, 2016

Remington
With his owner in the military and transferred away, Remington found himself homeless. But this three-year-old, bright and loving Lab and Pit Bull blend isn’t worried one bit. And that’s because he knows he’s got personality-plus and offers more fun than someone could expect. At three-years-old, Remington has everything a dog lover could want: he’s potty-trained, loves other dogs and children, and is essentially turn-key for any household. He was trained by his former owner and knows to listen — just what you’d expect from the “son” of a military man. You want to lounge? Remington says “Sure!” You want to play? Remington says, “Let’s do it!” You want to enjoy unconditional love? Remington says, “Always.”

OMalleyB
O’Malley! An apple-headed, male yellow Tabby named O’Malley, what a cat is he. He was clearly someone’s cat at one time, but probably was left to fend for himself. He arrived at the shelter with some scrapes and scratches, which have healed and he’s now more handsome than ever. It seems that he prefers the indoor life enjoying daily meals, or kitty room service and his cushy bed. O’Malley’s a big fella and it’s best you keep your sure footing around him because his leg rubs are full of powerful love. He’s all muscle and big heart, the kind of cat that makes girls swoon and men want to take to a tractor pull.
