Pet of the Week – September 12, 2011

He cocks his head carefully when you talk to him, his impressive satellite ears transmitting every syllable to his tiny golden heart. El Dorado only weighs 10 lbs, but he lives up to his big name with a ton of pure friendship — he’s the perfect Chihuahua/mix sidekick, and he’ll run to your arms and give you kisses to prove it. He loves to be held and he’ll relax calmly in your lap at home, or walk proudly by your side on a leash.

His name is Leonardo and he’s already mastered the fine art of making friends, a big achievement for a decidedly small but full-grown two-year-old. But when your heart’s as big as your body, it’s easily to be massively popular. Leonardo was found at an apartment complex, living alone; now he has friends everywhere; his cheerful charisma surrounds him like his stripes, and you’ll long to surround him, too

The Greenwood Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the compassionate care and protection of animals.

Their purpose is to give sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, provide education to the public on responsible and humane pet ownership, encourage the public to spay and neuter their pets by providing low cost surgery, and encourage adoptions of those animals placed in their care.
