Pets of the Week October 10, 2011

Rex, a compact Retriever mix, is a low-maintenance gem of a friend, with a healthy heart as vast and accommodating as a wraparound porch, who just happens to have a reduced adoption fee of $50 because he’s 8 years old. Rex is calm, quiet and housebroken, has a low-maintenance coat, gets along fine with other pets, and enjoys being inside or out; a great match for a busy working family with kids, or a loving stay-at-home single.

Gaby’s a pristine silver tiger beauty with riveting green eyes the color of a Luna moth; hold her close and you’ll see they’re rimmed perfectly in both black and white eyeliner, unless you’re too distracted by her musical purr to pay attention. Her soft, girlish hum starts immediately, an instant compliment that says she’s as fascinated with you as you are with her. Gaby was found “stray” in 96, but she’s too lovely to wander; she belongs in your heart and your home.

The Greenwood Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the compassionate care and protection of animals.

Their purpose is to give sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, provide education to the public on responsible and humane pet ownership, encourage the public to spay and neuter their pets by providing low cost surgery, and encourage adoptions of those animals placed in their care.
