The name Roxie sounds like it belongs to someone fun, playful, and carefree, and this time is no exception. Roxie is a sweet, good-natured pup with a heart of gold and a boatload of energy. She loves long walks and is quite the lady on-leash, so she’s hoping she’ll find someone who will take her on lots of outdoor adventures. Once she’s played herself out, this 10-month-old black and tan Shepherd mix desires nothing more than to have her belly rubbed and to get as many cuddles as she possibly can. With a name like Tux, you might get the impression this kitty thinks of herself as an aristo-“cat,” but that is not the case, as she prefers the simple things in life, such as snuggling in her bed or enjoying the affections of her favorite people. She shows her appreciation for these quiet pleasures with a purr you can hear across the room. She’s a little over a year old, with a lovely black and white coat that includes a mask-like pattern on her face reminiscent of the Phantom of the Opera. The Greenwood Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the compassionate care and protection of animals.
Their purpose is to give sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, provide education to the public on responsible and humane pet ownership, encourage the public to spay and neuter their pets by providing low cost surgery, and encourage adoptions of those animals placed in their care.
Their adoption center is open Tuesday through Saturday 12:00pm to 5:00pm est.
