Pets of the Week March 26, 2018

Chester is a fun, playful name that makes you smile when you hear it, so it’s perfect for this lovable pooch. A 1-year-old Hellenic or Greek Hound mix, Chester is a very attractive dog, with a handsome black and tan coat accented with a splash of white on his chest and all four paws. He’s a recent graduate of the Pawsitive Prison Program, in which he learned 20 different commands, including Sit, Stay, Heel, Wait, Get Dressed, and many more. Chester is very intelligent, loyal, eager to learn, and highly energetic. He gets along well with other dogs and children, and if he could talk, he’d tell you his favorite thing in the whole world is any type of ball. Call the adoption center today to schedule a meeting with Chester.

Like the Greek goddess of spring, this Persephone is quite the beauty. Her fluffy orange and white coat and big golden eyes are truly captivating, and her temperament is just as sweet as her face. She’s a rather quiet kitty who’s looking for a calm home where she can simply lie around looking beautiful. She’s only about 8 months old, but she’s already given up her childish ways and decided she’s all lady, preferring cuddles and gentle attention to energetic play. She doesn’t mind the company of other cats and would probably even accept a doggie sibling, as long as it could match her serene demeanor. Swing by PetSmart today and introduce yourself to Persephone.

Pets of the Week March 19, 2018

This handsome dog is hoping to find a forever home with people who like to hike, jog, or enjoy other outdoor activities that will allow him to burn off his Border Collie energy. Mikey is an 18-month-old black and white Hound and Border Collie mix with big expressive brown eyes. He loves meeting new people and he’d be delighted to have doggie siblings who would play along in his highly-spirited play. He’s a medium-sized dog with a big personality, and he needs a fenced-in backyard so he can freely run and play. See Mikey today and expect to fall in love.

Onyx is just as black and beautiful as his name suggests. At just 7-months-old, he has plenty of energy, and his playful personality is sure to keep you laughing. He may be a cat, but he seems to fancy himself a comedian, constantly talking, batting around his toys, and doing all he can to capture your attention. He’s happy to be picked up for a cuddle, but when he’s had enough, he’ll take off again in search of some new exciting activity. Onyx is a sweet boy who loves his humans, but he’s also an independent spirit, so don’t be surprised if he regularly rearranges his living area to suit his needs.

Gavin is a most lovable dog. He’s extremely smart and playful, with enough energy to make sure your whole family gets plenty of exercise. He’s a handsome 2-year-old, medium-sized Australian Kelpie-Shepherd mix whose unique black coat is accented with white, all on his face, chest, and feet, and a light brindle on his muzzle, legs, and the tips of his ears. Gavin is a bit of a flirt, always willing to make new girlfriends, as long as they can keep up with his high-intensity play. His greatest love is squeaky toys, but don’t think you’re going to get him to play fetch; he’d much rather chase whatever you throw and keep it all for himself. Meet him to appreciate his full appeal.

Vera is an independent woman. Or feline, if you prefer. This is one kitty who knows her mind, and she isn’t afraid to speak it. A beautiful girl, she flaunts a crisp white coat, highlighted with coal black markings on her side, near her tail, and across her ears and the top of her head. She’s 3 years old, so she’s grown out of that high-energy kitten stage and has settled comfortably into her adult personality. If cats started a feminist movement, Vera would probably sign up right away, because she strongly believes in getting attention only when she wants it. She’s hoping to find a home with someone who understands cats and will love her for the strong, free lady that she is.

Cocoa is one of those dogs who makes you smile the moment you see her. This milk chocolate-colored Retriever mix greets everyone with a big smile, an energetic wag of the tail, and if she can, a full-body snuggle. She isn’t quite 2 years old yet, but she’s a pretty big girl. You could even say she’s a bit tubby, but that’s just because she has a weakness for treats and will do anything for a tasty biscuit or two. Her sunny disposition shines through no matter what, including during the heartworm treatment she recently underwent. She’s quite adventurous and loves to chew up her toys, but when she’s done, she’ll head straight to her bed to relax. Cocoa will likely get along with other dogs and possibly even cats, so she’s an overall wonderful pooch.

Callie is elegant and supremely self-confident. So much so, in fact, that you could almost imagine her strolling down Hollywood Boulevard, showing off her fancy belled collar and looking like a true star. This gorgeous Calico is fully aware of how appealing she is, from her loving, affectionate personality to her snowy white coat accented with rich black and deep orange. She loves spending time with her humans, making her presence known by talking, rubbing against your legs, and telling you in no uncertain terms that she wants your attention. Callie is just over 18 months old and still quite playful. She takes particular joy in any toys that jingle. Come see this feline starlet today.

Pets of the Week February 19, 2018

Charlie will dance his way into your heart from the moment you meet him. A recent graduate of the Pawsitive Prison Program, this 3-year-old black-and-white terrier mix has proved just how intelligent and determined he is by learning 27 different commands, including “roll over,” “speak,” and ‘do a little dance.” Charlie has a charming, playful personality that will keep you laughing from sunup ‘til sundown. He’s a fun-loving “Petey lookalike” fellow with a huge grin and a whole lot of love to give. And he’s hoping to find a forever home with someone who will play with him when he’s feeling peppy but let him snuggle when it’s time to rest.

Gandalf is a somewhat conservative character. A bit quiet at first, he comes around once he’s settled in and knows he can trust you, asking for gentle pats and scratches. He’s very sweet but seeks attention in his own time, and he prefers to sit next to you rather than be picked up and carried around. Gandalf likes stability and a calm atmosphere, but he does like to have a cat buddy with which to play and snuggle. At 8 months old, he’s very well-behaved when it comes to getting groomed, handling even an ear cleaning without fuss or complaint. And as the name Gandalf might suggest, he sports a rich grey coat. Visit this handsome kitty today.
