Pet of the Week September 26, 2011

They say love is a two-way street, but this congenial collie/shepherd mix Kaylee thinks the fun part is giving; bliss is being by your side or at your feet. Kaylee’s owners moved away and she’s eager to show you how delightfully low-maintenance a great family dog can be. Gentle Kaylee loves to play in the yard, and has a special place in her heart for kids. (Another dog friend is terrific too — and cats are just fine.) She’s already housetrained, and her loyalty shines when she leash-walks.

It took a three-story ladder to get gorgeous calico Putty Tat down from a tree, but she was worth every step. You won’t find a more intelligent, polite or attentive two-year-old, or one more willing to give you a fair meow-comment on any question you put to her. Putty Tat’s as universally affectionate as she is colorful, too — she’ll quickly rub her orange, black and white softness all over you just to say hello, and she treats her cat friends with the same kindness.

The Greenwood Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the compassionate care and protection of animals.

Their purpose is to give sanctuary to abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, provide education to the public on responsible and humane pet ownership, encourage the public to spay and neuter their pets by providing low cost surgery, and encourage adoptions of those animals placed in their care.
