Pets of the Week December 4, 2017

The name Lena has Greek origins, meaning light, shining, or alluring. And like the Greek goddesses of old, this medium-sized Retriever and Terrier mix radiates beauty and charm. At just over a year old, she’s full of energy, but more than anything, she’s overflowing with love. Lena will captivate you from the moment you see her sweet, smiling face. Her snowy white coat, decorated with a splash of light brown across her right eye, will have everyone stopping to admire her, and her personality is as lovely as her appearance. She’d be delighted to find a forever home with kids, other dogs, or even cats.

This high-spirited little kitty is just as fun-loving as the theatrical character from “Chicago” with the same name. Roxie is only 5 months old, so she’s prepared to bring many years of laughter into your life. And she’s sure to do just that, whether she’s chasing her favorite toys around the living room or wrestling with a fellow feline. She’s even shown an interest in making doggy friends, so a wide variety of households would make her happy. Roxie is a beautiful brown, black, and white Tabby with an absolutely adorable face and enough charisma to turn even a life-long “dog person” into an immediate cat lover.

Pets of the Week November 27, 2017

Because she’s the same golden color and just as sweet, Nilla is named after the tasty cookie wafer. She never meets a stranger and always ready to pass out hugs. A bouncy, bubbly, jubilant pup, this 9-month-old is game for any sort of toy, jog around the park, or playing tag with her canine buddies. A tomboy, she’s not one for dressing up in pretty sweaters or fancy coats. She’d rather sign up for a game of softball or a track run. If you’re looking for an athletic gal who’s full of adorable spunk, then Nilla is a perfect choice.

Jupiter is a lighthearted fella who is easy to love and entertaining to watch. Full of spunk, this brown, black and white Tabby cat adds life to any party. Like a dancer sliding across a stage, this show-off kitten loves to show off his superb dance skills. He greets everyone with a happy “hello!” and will make sure you’re never bored. At 6-months-old, he’s ready to inject some fun and love into your life.

Justice League

While Justice League comes nowhere near Wonder Woman, it is loads better than Batman V Superman.

We learn that Parademons have been sighted across the world, abducting people associated with Star Labs. After an attack on the Amazons by Steppenwolf, Diana approaches Bruce and they begin getting the team together.

As with a typical intro team-up, it does not come together the first time. We get snippets of backstory for the new characters to the DCEU: Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Just enough to give us a hint of where their solo movies may go.

Part of the plot is bringing Superman back after the League fights Steppenwolf, but cannot stop him. Superman’s inclusion does bring everything together.

The plot is decent, but does feel rushed. You can tell DC/Warner Bros are playing catch-up to the Marvel movies. But it is still a fun movie.

The CGI was … not great. The very first scene of the movie opens with Superman and a CGIed out mustache. The main villain is all CGI as well. Poor CGI.

Starring: Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Henry Cavill, Jeremy Irons, Ciarán Hinds, JK Simmons, Connie Nielsen, Joe Morton, Amber Heard, Diane Lane, Amy Adams

Pets of the Week November 20, 2017

As a graduate of the Pawsitive Prison Program, Sonny is a bright, straight-A student who has learned over 20 skills. “Fun and freedom” are his middle name, but he also has a sweet, shy side that is oh-so endearing. Don’t let that fool you, however, for he’s an energetic fella who loves to run at top speed, toss around his favorite tennis ball or toy, and play hard with his canine friends. A fenced yard would serve him best and keep him safe. This one to two-year-old Bulldog/Terrier mix is well-versed in laying on the charm and making you fall head over heels for his adorable grin.

One would think that with Emory’s intelligent mind, he’d of been the founder of the prestigious Emory University. Inquisitive, a conversationalist, and always alert to the goings-on, this smokey gray, 5 ½ month old little boy cat is, well, needing to be in everything. Eager to know what you’re doing, how you’re doing it and why, Emory is persistent with questions and longing for answers. Some might say he’s a bit nosy, but he feels he’s simply enlightening the mind and feeding the soul. Searching for a library and Google search engine to feed his curiosity, he’d also love a family who appreciates a scholar.

Pets of the Week November 13, 2017

The name “Ice” might reflect her frosty blue eyes, but her sweet personality will melt your heart. This pretty little girl loves nothing more than to run laps around the yard, take long walks, and play with doggy toys. Ice is a beautiful 18-month-old Hound mix with a snowy white coat adorned with light brown across her ears and left eye. Pair that with her clear blue gaze, and you have a winning combination. She is never short of energy, so she’ll want a large fenced-in yard. And although she loves meeting new people, she’s not very fond of cats, so she’s looking for a home without kitty siblings.

As large as he is, he should probably be called “Big Mack.” His handsome gray and white coat echoes his attractive personality, and you’ll quickly win him over by spending every available moment scratching his ears and petting him gently. He’s not a fan of being picked up and carried around, however, so his ideal home won’t have younger children who may be tempted. At just over 2 years old, he finds cat toys enticing, so he’ll be delighted to spend quality time chasing ribbons and batting around catnip mice. And once he’s all played out, you’ll probably find him napping in a window, soaking up the sun.
